China King Express — Restaurant in Van Buren Charter Township

Well, after months of searching, I was FINALLY able to locate a Chinese Restaurant that still offers DINE IN service. It was a 40 minute one way drive for me but it was absolutely worth it. I was nervous when I first entered and found this enormous Restaurant empty with staff everywhere just relaxing. Always remember, appearances can be very misleading. This place quickly filled up as I was enjoying my meal. (I was there around 3:50 P.M.). The reason that most people go to a restaurant is to be able to relax and enjoy having a good meal, good service, a pleasant environment, and have nothing to clean up once we are finished. That's an issue that Google needs to address with regards to CARRY OUT ONLY establishments that CLAIM to be Restaurants. But that's not an issue here at China King Express. They have a Wonderful Restaurant that not only offers individual lunches/dinners but a FULL Chinese Buffet should you choose that option. I choose the Almond Chicken from the individual menu and had plenty of leftovers to bring home 🏡 for a later snack. My dinner was good and the service was Fantastic. My food came out in less than 10 minutes from the time I ordered it. And they have a Ice Cream Dessert bar (the kids will love it) if you still have room once you finish your dinner. The prices were VERY reasonable and for those who wish to indulge themselves, a complete bar with all kinds of drink options available. It's a great place to take the wife, the girlfriend, or (if you're Really, REALLY brave) both at the same time. Lol. They have plenty of room for the entire family. The kids can check out the huge aquarium by the entrance and have ice cream when they finish eating. We went to rolling hills the other day and decided to stop here on the way home. They have the smallest selection of buffet food of any Chinese buffet I have ever been to. The place was clean and the staff was great. But as we walked in we ordered our drinks and as soon as we turned the corner we realized it was a tiny buffet line. We felt invested because we already ordered our pops. Don't bother if you love a salad bar. Don't bother if you like the fake crab and cheese casserole. Don't bother if you like the stuffed mushrooms. Don't bother if you expect sushi. These are basic things at most Chinese buffets. The pepper steak was terrible quilty, the egg drop soup tasted fishy, the sweet and sour sauce was so thick it looked like strawberry glaze. The sugar donuts were hard. I really did have higher hopes but the selection was so small. The pop was good at least. It wasn't Lenard's syrup. They do have a bar so maybe that's why locals like it. I did like the fried rice. The egg rolls were a mix of cabbage and bean sprouts. Spring roll vs egg roll debate.... I prefer my egg rolls to have bean sprouts and spring rolls to be cabbage. The sesame chicken was hard and tough. Flavor was ok tho. The crab rangoons which I believe were labeled shrimp cheese were pretty good. We won't be back it just wasn't enough selection for us. They are always ready to listen to your complaints and make you happy as a customer.
