Cafe Yumm! - Mill Plain Crossing — Restaurant in Vancouver

Angry looking college aged female wearing tons of black eye makeup saw me enter at 6pm. Zero guests in the place- she turned her back to me and slowly started pouring a beer.... no hello, no greeting- nothing. Once poured, she slowly walked to a silverware tray, grabbed a knife, returned to he beer and proceeded to slowly remove the foam from the beer. Still no greeting: keep in mind I’m alone at 6 pm in an empty restaurant. 100% empty. I tell the back of the girl, helpfully, that a spoon would remove the foam quicker. At this point she tells me “I’ll be with you in a minute” ... more foam skimming... finally after having stood at the counter for 3 minutes ALONE in the restaurant (who is this beer being poured for?!?) I turned around and left.

I work in restaurants- if you can’t offer a lone hello to the only guest in the building, I, nor anyone else should be frequenting this establishment.

Bummer, always loved Cafe Yumm. Maybe franchising isn’t the right idea if you can’t monitor or...

So I'm editing my previous review of 5 stars due to an order mix up and awkward customer service. I live 2 towns over from this location and when I sat down to enjoy by bbq tofu I found no tofu but tempeh instead. I called to let the manager now about the issue and instead of placing me on hold I got to listen to how annoyed the manager, Nick, was! Nick was the person who took my order literally 20 mins before I called. He grilled me to "make sure it was his location" and hoped I could make it jn soon and he would make it right. I ordered a large jazzy bowl and bought two sauces out of the deli cabinet as an order to go. When I got to my hotel, I found that the jalapeno sauce jar was missing the plastic seal, had been opened, and was only about 2/3 full!! Gross!!!!! When I called to let the café know what had happened, they suggested that I bring it back for a replacement jar. I don' t know how the server didn't notice the open jar in the first place, and I am certainly not going to waste my evening driving back there!! It was ordered "to go" for good reason. I have eaten at Yumm many times before, and generally get very good service and reasonably...
