We come here every weekend. The employees are always so nice and pleasant. Except today. The employee named Catlyn (Cat) was extremely rude, lazy, and spiteful to us and the customer before us. There were 3 full boxes of peanuts, but she would not open them to allow her customers to snack on them while waiting for their food. When I inquired about this to the kind man taking our order, he hesitated and said they have the boxes and he’d be happy to open them for us. After we paid, he went to open the boxes, but Catlyn screamed across the store from the cooking area and asked him what he was doing. He said he’s opening peanut boxes for the customers and she chided him in front of everyone saying “I said no one opens those boxes. There’s no more peanuts for the rest of the night.” I politely asked why, and she said “it’s because I said so.” I was appalled at this level of horrific service. When I asked why not, she said it’s because it’s 1.5 hour before closing time and she already cleaned the store and doesn’t want to clean again. I said I’ll clean up after myself and the other customer chimed in saying he will also clean up after himself. She said “no, no more peanuts. We’re not going to open those boxes.” I asked if this is corporate policy to not have peanuts available 1.5hr before closing time so you don’t have to clean. She said “yes.” I have never in my life seen such rude and awful customer service.
Not only was she rude to us, she was mean to the poor guy taking our order. He was clearly so uncomfortable. I’m not sure why this Five Guys has hired Catlyn. She’s creating a toxic work environment.
She also refused to stock ketchup packets and kept one bathroom closed because of her laziness since she didn’t want to clean it again. I understand if we went 15 mins before closing time. But we went 1.5hours before closing time! And the other employee had no problem opening the peanut boxes, so clearly Catlyn was the only Scrooge who had a problem with it.
I hope the manager at this location doesn’t let this lady create an ongoing toxic work culture and turn off customers from going to this place. We will just go to another five guys location after this...
Read moreMy first impression was not good due to a list of factors. Ordering was simple because the menu is about what you'd put on a burger at a back yard BBQ, and it's nice to actually see your food being made. The atmosphere is riddled with loud music and yells from the kitchen which clash against the solid surfaces to make an obnoxious chaos. This added with not getting cups for drinks we ordered was a sign things were going poorly with these employees.
The burger its self had a decent flavor, though the mushrooms were bland. Any burger made on a griddle will retain its juiciness, the dried up wafers from certain burger places is due to either a conveyor flame broil, or a steam pan that evacuates the grease, so there's nothing fantastic about the meat in my opinion. Whoever assembled the burger needs to be trained in the art of layering though, because all the cold toppings were on one side and all the hot toppings and meat was on the other. The fries were overcooked, but the trace of perfectly cooked fries amid the bits of burnt fries served to us was an indication that they were burnt due to double cooking.
I can say with complete honesty that at least this location is sub-par. My family members in another state enjoy the 5guys they go to and have had no complaints. I've had better burgers from diners, the place with carhops, and even, sadly, the more famous fast food places.
I will never go to this location again, and based on the price for the size, I might just stick to a good diner burger and walk out...
Read moreMy wife is very picky when it comes to burgers and this has recently been our go-to when she gets the craving.
Besides good quality food, Five Guys has a very good bang-for-your-buck ratio. You get a ton of food for about the same price as anywhere else. Their standard burger is actually 2 patties; if you want just one you go for the junior. A small order of fries is more than a McDonald's supersize it feels like.
Lots of ingredient options. My favorite is 'all the way', which gives you a variety of the usual burger add-ins (ketchup, onions, mushrooms, etc) but more than another burger joint.
For the low-carb /gluten-free crowd they do offer lettuce-wrapped. This is surprisingly difficult to find at other joints nearby. Burger King doesn't do it. Wendy's technically did, but it was more of a weird salad.
They offer bacon for your milkshakes. 'Nuff said.
My only 'beef' (pun intended) was that they don't do grass-fed burgers but that may be a luxury/niche that only Killer Burger offers right now. Also the fries are plentiful but they are a little soft for my taste.
Overall, definitely...
