If you’re looking for authentic Mexican tacos, this is the place to be. We’re from LA and went in with high expectations. Everything we had, carne asada, carnitas, cochinito, and fish tacos, and pork adobo burrito, were OUTSTANDING! Make sure you try the house margarita made with blood oranges. It’s one of the best I’ve ever had and it’s a steal at < $10. It’s also right next door to Vice Beer so super convenient when you’re feeling the munchies. This will be our regular Mexican restaurant going forward.

The place looks great & the customer service was excellent. However, their vegetarian taco is honestly, not even being mean, possibly the worst taco I’ve ever had. It was basically pico de gallo in a wrap. It’s sad because I really wanted to like it too & the server was kind. I would really love a genuinely good taco without meat but for some reason this seems to be a struggle to find in Vancouver. Why?!

Excellent food with very friendly service, on a large patio with covered seating. Indoor seating available as well. Tried all the tacos and the fish taco was the best of all for us. Great fresh flavors and spice levels. Homemade salsa and hot sauce was very good and went great with our food. They have beer and liquor available along with custom drinks. Local gem.

A Culinary Oasis of Savory Tacos, Divine Margaritas, and Unforgettable Service! From the moment you step into El Coyote, you're not just entering a restaurant; you're embarking on a vibrant, flavor-filled journey that will leave you planning your next visit before you've even finished your first margarita. This place is, without a doubt, a gem, a culinary oasis that consistently delivers an experience that is nothing short of spectacular. Let's talk about the tacos. Oh, the tacos! "Savory" doesn't even begin to cover it. Each bite is a masterclass in flavor, a perfect symphony of perfectly seasoned meats, fresh toppings, and warm, pliable tortillas. Whether you opt for the succulent carnitas, the perfectly charred carne asada, or the surprisingly delightful al pastor, you're in for a treat. The ingredients are clearly top-notch, and the care taken in their preparation is evident in every delicious morsel. They've perfected the delicate balance of textures and tastes, making each taco a miniature masterpiece. And then there are the margaritas. If you're a margarita connoisseur, prepare to be absolutely enchanted. These aren't just any margaritas; they are works of art. Perfectly balanced, refreshingly potent, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, each sip is a burst of citrusy perfection. Whether you prefer classic lime, a zesty spicy version, or one of their innovative fruit-infused concoctions, El Coyote's margaritas are the ideal complement to their incredible food, and frankly, a reason to visit all on their own. They manage to be both dangerously delicious and incredibly refreshing – the perfect antidote to a long day. Beyond the incredible food and drink, what truly sets El Coyote apart is its customer service. From the moment you're greeted at the door until the final farewell, every member of the staff exudes warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality. They are knowledgeable about the menu, quick to offer recommendations, and incredibly efficient without ever making you feel rushed. You feel genuinely valued as a customer, and it's clear that the team takes immense pride in ensuring every diner has an exceptional experience. It's the kind of service that makes you feel like a cherished regular, even on your very first visit. In conclusion, El Coyote is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. It's a place where every element, from the savory, unforgettable tacos and the divine, perfectly crafted margaritas, to the truly outstanding customer service, comes together to create a dining adventure that is simply unparalleled. Do yourself a favor and get to El Coyote – your taste buds, and your soul, will thank you. You'll leave with a satisfied stomach, a happy heart, and an immediate...

I usually hate leaving a bad review for a Mexican restaurant, especially being Mexican myself, but this place just wasn’t it.

From the start, it was confusing. No one greeted us or explained what to do. We eventually sat down and got menus, but no one ever came to take our order. After waiting a while, we just walked up to the window and ordered there. Honestly kind of wished we had just left at that point.

We got different tacos, pork adobado, carnitas, and asada. None of them were good. The adobado was super dry and falling apart. The asada, which is usually a safe bet, was bland. And the carnitas had no flavor at all. We only had one bite and could not eat it. Even the salsas were flavorless. The only thing I liked was the agua fresca, and even that came with no explanation, it turned out to be strawberry.

After we got our food, no one ever checked on us. We waited a long time, then finally had to ask someone for the check. No one asked how the food was, even with a full taco still sitting on the plate.

I’m honestly surprised by all the good reviews. Maybe I just have a higher standard for Mexican food, or I’m not who this place is meant for. If you’re Mexican or you know what real Mexican food tastes like, I’d say skip this spot.

One good thing, the margaritas were cheaper than other places. But heads up, the online menu is wrong. Tacos are more than $4...

I went there with my husband on Sunday. There was one other family in there. We had three carne asada tacos and one mushroom. The tacos were decently filled, albeit a bit in the greasy side. I prefer my meat to have the grease drained off. The tacos shells were ok, fried with yet more oil dripping off. For the $4 price tag for each I wouldn't come back. There are already too many options in Downtown Vancouver with Conejo, Provecho and La Frontera. I haven't even tried La Fiesta yet. This place just wasn't exceptional enough. No basket of chips and salsa. No extra toppings.

I can drive to La Valentina on hwy 99 and get exceptional tacos for a great price. They'll toss in free chips and salsa plus some pickled carrots, peppers and lime for my tacos.

I wish this place well but it's just...
