We had heard mixed reviews but couldn't wait to try Ranch Pizza. Upon arriving for dinner, it wasn't busy at all. Like other eating establishments, you walk up to the register to order. We are not fans of this as it doesn't give you enough time to peruse the menu, especially when there are others behind you. Our cashier was robotic, no welcome in, no smile, no energy and was not that willing to help with us first timers. The place is nice, no problem there, and there was plenty of seating for us. We ordered one pizza, a special, the French onion dupe, a 12x12 size and some bread sticks. Have to say that we did have sticker shock. Is a pizza this small really worth 30 bucks? Flavor was decent, crust was decent, but we were left underwhelmed and felt that it wasn't a good value, especially combined with the lackluster service. Perhaps the price of dining downtown nowadays? With so many great pizza options in Vancouver, it will make it difficult to think about a...
Read moreNew (to the Couve) pizza spot, although no stranger to the Portland dining scene, where it has several locations. We visited recently and tried out two personal pizzas and a couple of Baerlic beers. Menu selection is limited and the counter service was as expected. As far as the food itself, the Hawaiian came out charred (bacon lardons crumbled like charcoal), virtually inedible. The #4 pizza with sausage and ricotta was much better, although I’ve had other deep dish pizzas with similar toppings that I’ve enjoyed more at other spots in town. They’ve done a nice job building out the space, and the ranch itself is of course excellent (and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually like ranch on their pizza). We’ll likely check it out again in the future, but with so many other pizza places in town, not in a...
Read moreI wanted to like this place and gave it two tries. The first was pretty underwhelming, not terrible but I didn't finish the cheese pizza. For the second time, the pickup was 35 minutes later than the estimate (not delivery; in-store pickup) and the pizza somehow had no cheese?? It's just bread (not dough or crust, the whole pizza is basically just focaccia bread), red sauce, and pepperoni. I was flabbergasted that someone could forget to put cheese on a pizza with one topping, but then I checked the reviews and saw 2 others saying they also got no cheese on their order (and one who got no sauce).
Between the quality, the lateness, and the bizarre rate of missing cheese, it's just not worth the high price. Crust Collective does it...
