Walking in, it is clear that this is a refurbished prior Max and Erma's or Applebee's restaurant, as the interior is decorated with red and wood paneling. There is also an unused bar area. Upon arrival, I gave my name and started waiting in the abandoned bar area. After about 15 minutes of my perceived 30 minute wait, a lady comes out, who was not the hostess and tells us that anybody who has their name on the list needs to wait in the car because they are only allowed to have 6-8 people due to social distancing. I respect the policy, but one, why were people not already told, two, you always have people who ignore it, and three, with no buzzers or numbers they were asking what types of cars people were waiting in as it was cold outside. I did not feel that with parking wrapping around the building this was promising. My husband waited right outside the doors so that when our name was called about another half hour later, we were ready. We sat at the table for another half hour before getting to get our drinks at which time we ordered our meals as well unsure of when the server would return. I had placed my order as simar to the Simple and Fit Breakfast they used to have as possible. With the changes I made, she suggested I order the two egg combo, because it was the same but cheaper. I agreed but I did not remember that being the case. It took another half hour to get the food and it came with hash rows, which I was trying to not get, as they were tempting. Plus, the plain toast I had required was buttered, so really, it was not my desired meal at all. The server was nice and seemed to be doing her best in an understaffed situation. I did not want to make things worse, especially after the lady next to us, which was funny with all the social distancing that they were right beside us with empty tables abound, was abundantly rude to the server. The food was mediocre, not what I expected for an IHOP.

ihop? more like ihobble at best. GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE! should have taken a clue from there being literally 2 cars in the ENTIRE parking lot, employees included. thought it was closed, wished it would have been now. ordered a mountain dew, it was obviously diet mountain dew they brought. server swore it was regular and I knew it wasn't because aspartame has a STRONG chemical taste to me. got a water instead. you'd think he would have taken the drink off, you'd be wrong. more on that later. we both ordered a pancake combo, her bacon, me sausage. both of our hash browns were BURNT. we were able to pick most of the burnt pieces off, ate it anyway. sausage was also rather burnt. apparently the bacon was fine. for the pancakes: I got the blueberry and she got the cookie butter. the compote on mine was basically just blueberries, no sauce at all. I've NEVER had to add syrup to blueberry pancakes with compote until today. they were BONE DRY. same with her's, she was robbed of whipped cream, photo clearly shows it... she got none. she also had to add syrup as they were also very dry. check came and wouldn't you know it? we were charged for the diet mountain dew that they swore was regular that I drank one sip of. luckily they took it off at my asking, they would have regretted giving me a hard time by this point as I was ready to be blunt. paid a 15% tip (I wanted to pay less honestly) and got the heck out of there. DISAPPOINTING! was looking forward to this and it was a MASSIVE disappointment. IHOP has a great product and this location makes Denny's look like a Michelin starred restaurant. Never again.

My son was home from school with a fever yesterday. While he's feeling much better, I kept him out again today since it's Friday, and I figured some IHOP would lift his spirits. He got the Silver 5 with 1 egg, 1 bacon, and 1 sausage, as well as hot chocolate. They forgot his bacon but brought it after i mentioned it to our server. He loved it all. My meal, on the other hand, was extremely disappointing. I ordered the big steak omelet with "fresh" fruit. When the fruit came, my first thought was, "I'm not eating that." It looked incredibly slimy and anything but "fresh. " The omelet was a big mess and looked nothing like the picture. Now, having cooked and purchased many an omelet, I'll admit it's not something that's gonna "look perfect." I get it, but this was disappointing. I'll also admit that looks wouldn't have mattered if it wasn't gross, but it was. The so-called steak was mostly unchewable and clearly poor quality. I should've known better than to order anything with steak in from IHOP. It's been a while since we've been to this location, and they seem to have remodeled, but the food was still just what you'd expect from any greasy spoon diner. Imagine putting lipstick on a pig. Our server was professional enough. No problem with them. They could've been better, but I realize the world doesn't revolve around us. All together, my son had the desired experience, but mine was NOT something I could recommend in good conscious. IF you're gonna eat here, I recommend keeping it simple, maybe stick to pancakes.

The shift leader at the Troy Rd. in Huber Heights Ohio, for the time we were there, around 5pm, was very unknowledgeable about their girt card policy. We had a gift card sent to my bf for his birthday for 10 dollars off and it was still good, did not expire till next year. He claimed that they quit taking them 2 weeks prior to the time we were there. I said it has not expired He just got it that month like 2 or 3 weeks before we went to eat there. He claimed his manager told him to no longer accept them. I told him that was BS and we told him that we have had a bad experience before this one at the same IHop and this done it for us. He apologized but said he still was not able to take the gift card. So the next day I called to speak to the manager and the DM from Dayton Ihop on Miller Lane was there because both managers were off that day. Her name was Roan. She was all about helping, or seemed to be anyway. Claimed she called about getting us refunded the 10 bucks, I went in to show her the gift card and she kept it to supposedly take care of the situation. I called several time for about a week and a half and even got put on hold for 45 minutes and I drove to Miller Lane very upset and ready to go off. I walked in and 2 men were waiting to be seated. I overheard one of them say, it is up to u we could wait or go somewhere else, they did acknowledge that they were waiting He said. I told them, no worries, I been on hold for 45 minutes, they r about to get an ear full. They said well that is not a good indication and they left. A tall dark waiter came up and asked me if he could help me, I told him I wanted to speak to the manager NOW. He got her and I asked her who the hell put me on hold and never came back to help me? I showed her my phone that showed I was still on hold for the past 45 minutes. She proceeded to apologize and said they had been having issuesbwith their system because the registers were down. So she checked the phone and claimed it also was not working. I then told her why I was there and she told me that she was Roan and she did not know why the money had not been refunded still but would check on it. I gave her my number and never heard back from her. So then I called the Ihop on Troy in Huber Heights and spoke to Katy after speaking to the host/waiter. I explained everything to her about what had happened and what I was dealing with from the DM Roan. She told me to come in and she would take care of it by giving me 10 in cash. When I went there a few minutes after hanging up she was unavailable and gave an envelope with the 10 dollars in it to give to me. We have never had such horrible service or communication problems anywhere else that we have went to eat. This was so disgraceful and the worst in the restaurant profession I have ever dealt with. They lost our business for sure. I would go anywhere else and suggest any place else to anyone that would ask me of good places to eat. Ihop has no place on my list of places to eat anymore whether it is at Huber Heights or on Miller lane in Dayton. Far as I am concerned they r all horribly ran period.

Very upset and disgusted ex...
