Rude workers. Not sure if it’s family owned. Me and my partner have been there on a few occasions. My partner is Italian and she loves going in for Italian groceries as well as the ambiance. Very sad that both times we were there the women running the place are rude.
The last time we went was the final and last straw for us. We went in one afternoon and one of the ladies said once room was available she would come seat us. We waiting, looked over the menu… I did a little shopping as my partner waited right by the front desk. Waited some more then a huge party walks in and the lady begins to seat them before us. Yes the party knew the women by name and vise versa. We then ask when we will be seated. Meanwhile, a couple had just walked in and the lady tells us we need to line up behind them. Since they were here first. Clearly, we couldn’t have been at the front of the store by the deli and have walked in after the couple as they weren’t even half way into the market area. We put back all the grocery items we had gathered to take home and left. From my past experience the food is ok But if you’re not their “ kind “ I hope you have plenty of time to allow others to go before you. Also, there are plenty of other Italian restaurants locally that you can visit and feel welcomed :) that day we chose to eat at Cafe Fiore instead and mmmm…. It did not...
Read morePeirano's is a lunch spot from heaven. The sandwhiches look and smell incredible! But the real king at Perirano's is the lasagna. Once I saw this steaming mound of bliss, I put away my aspirations for a meatball sandwich and ordered lasagna for lunch. I've never ordered lasagna for lunch, but I would eat this entree anyday, anytime. It was perfect. The meat was flavorable and juicy , the tomato sauce was the true goat though. It tasted like it had been simmering with spices for a days. I can't even begin to describe that sauce. I found myself immedaitely trying to get the recipe. There is one online from one of the Peiorano brothers, but it doesn't give enough info on how they get that incredible taste sensation. It was a large portion for 18$. I would normally balk at the idea of spending 18 bucks for lunch, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I reasoned that I would have two meals, because surely I wouldn't finish it all. I did not even hesitate to eat every drop of greatness that it is the lasagna. They've got an abundant menu, with a fantastic assortment of salads using fresh vegetables. If you go for the salad, do yourself a favor and pair it with the lasgana. You will be...
Read moreThis is a great place to sit on an early Saturday afternoon. It was a beautiful day, so that helped. The waitress was nice and they had music playing too so the surroundings were pleasant. The olive tapenade is a must try if you like tapenade. The food took a long time to get to us and we were getting a bit antsy but when we got the food, you could tell why, it was homemade, it was delicious. I ordered the lasagna, and it was beyond delicious. The sauce was perfect , and the meat ratio to the pasta was above what you are used to getting. My little guy got the spaghetti and meatballs and enjoyed every bit. My husband got the turkey sandwich, it didn't come with a side which for a sandwich I find odd but he liked it with the exception of the meat/cheese to bread ratio, said the bread was too much and not very fresh. The vinaigrette helped a little, he said, but it was just okay. We didn't get refills very often even with our water, which was disappointing, and I drink I ordered, it never made it on the check or to me. All in all, it's a great place to try if you are looking for...
