This is not a food review. This is a lack of service review.
This is a HARD pass unless ya want to risk wasting your time.
I assume the host 'gambled' with our 'out-of-state' number and figured he'd cater to the 'locals'.
We were never seated.
We drove up to hit this restaurant that was recommended.
When we showed up we were told 20 minutes. And 3 couples in front of us. We left our number and walked around the blocked off streets for a few minutes.
We came back and sat, watching the crowds put their names on the list, took pictures, etc.
30 minutes from the time we arrived we noticed couples that'd come after us going in.
So we talked to the host. He said there are 3 tables emptying and it'll be a couple minutes.
Good chat him joking about how he'd like a way to shock customers who are just sitting so they'd clear the tables etc.
Over the next 10 minutes we see more couples that were behind us to in.
The final event was a couple crossing clearly familiar with him yelling his name trying to get his attention. While they were waiting outside for him they said 'it 's busy we really should've called ahead for a reservation.'
As soon as we saw them coming we started recording because it caught our attention.
The host inside is moving his podium to then move a table into the window with chairs. He then comes out and takes the couple that had been there for 3 minutes.
I finally got inside and ask him 'hey what's up? You originally said 20 minutes. Then when we talked you said our table was emptying it'd be a few minutes. It's now 45. 4 couples have now been taken in that were behind us on the list. Along with a huge group and the original 3 couples. There's literally no one else outside. Annnnd that last couple just arrived and you literally moved your stand for that table and chairs you just put there. Why do you keep ignoring us?'. He then flat out lied and said 'oh they had a reservation.'. I said 'no they didn't we've been waiting outside and we not only heard but we recorded them saying they'd wished they'd gotten a reservation because it was busy.'. He said 'what?!'. Was clearly caught and the literally walked off.
We left.... we'll never go back! We'll be sure and pass it information about this place onto everyone we know and work with. There are so many great Italian places with great service!
I'll provide my op ed to 2 select outlets without a fee.
No reason to come here and potentially waste your time! For so many other options with outstanding service and...
Read moreWell it was my 25th wedding anniversary and usually that's a big celebration. So I called the restaurant and told them I have a service animal and she's about 5 lb and she has to sit on my lap because she's lying. The receptionist told me that's wonderful I said you have outdoor seating? She said no you can sit in here with your dog. I said thank you she's on my lap nobody will see her. We arrive on the night of our anniversary, and the manager greets us there's nobody there, I tell him that I spoke to the receptionist about my dog and that's just to sit on my lap and he told me that I can't do that. I told him that I spoke to the receptionist and she okayed it. He said I'm the manager and I have the last say and you have to have your dog on the floor I said my dog is blind I told the receptionist that a few days ago when I called. He said sorry, I'm the manager I'm the last word. We walked out and just about a block away was this wonderful restaurant called Cafe fiore and we went over there and they let me sit on a high table at the end table and they did not have any problem with my dog. There were more than accommodating, there was a full crowd in there, there was a great band playing and the food was very good. So lesson learned stay away from capriccio, I'm 100% Sicilian and I'm sure that there are food was not going to be good either. Especially when you walk in the restaurant and nobody's there during dinner time. I hope this manager reads this post and...
Read moreWent on a Friday night right before 9pm, there were maybe two other parties in there, so not busy at all. My partner and I were seated with menus, and given complimentary bread. I saw at least 3 workers, the host who sat us, the girl behind the bar polishing glasses, and there was a guy handing out food.
While we sat and waited I saw the host take his whole 15 minute break, the table next to us eat their appetizer, and their dinner. The girl polishing the glasses avoided eye contact with me and never came to take our order or ask if we were being helped. We waited 30 minutes and then ended up walking out.
They didnt bother asking us if we even wanted something to drink, let alone come to take our order.
They close at 10 and I've worked in food service, I get wanting to close up and go home on a Friday night, but i would have respected them if they said "hey the kitchen is getting ready to close, do you mind if we get your order in before [a certain time]" but they just ignored us and didnt even bother acknowledging us.
We got there over an hour before closing, it says they close at 10 and they had a guy playing live music, so I know that they planned on having business, sucks for the owners that the staff doesn't acknowledge the customers. Seems to be a common issue at...
