First, I gotta ask, how much do yall pay people to leave a good review? I cannot believe that with the food I was just served and with the way this restaurant was operating that a review of over 1 star would be posted honestly.
I didn't have any issues with the staff personally, the atmosphere was friendly, but as far as family friendly, very much so, your kids just might see a waitress or cook doing a line behind a room divider next to your booth is all.
The food, the most important part, the reason you read reviews at all, is the food worth the money?
ABSOLUTELY.. NOT!
Don't waste your money or your time, I'm not being unreasonable as I say this, I paid $29.95 (with a coupon for $2.00 off) for 2 calzones, Canadian bacon and mozzarella on one, Italian sausage and mozzarella on the other, we also ordered the garlic cheesy bread (all of which looked amazing online). The food took about 15-25 minutes to get to us, which actually we had to pick up at the counter and it was .. in the nicest way to put it, trash. If I would've known that Pizza Man Dan's purchased their ingredients at the 99 Cent store next door, I would have just got a 7-Eleven Pizza and saved myself the disappointment. The garlic cheesy bread is literally just French bread, sliced in half with too much mozzarella cheese caked on top and not enough garlic powder sprinkled (possibly) somewhere underneath. The calzones, wow. First off. When I think calzone, I think of a Pizza (sauce, toppings and cheese) folded in half basically, we were served melts! A thin layer of canadian bacon (looked like lunch meat) with again way to much mozzarella cheese in one and the one with Italian sausage had maybe 8 tiny chunks of sausage and an over abundance of cheese as well. NO MARINARA, except for the side of it that came with each calzone and it was colder than the soda!
Best part of the entire place? They...
Read moreTo be fair, at its best, most pizza delivery service is perfectly OK -- which is exactly how I feel about Pizza Man Dan’s. It’s not great, it’s not horrible, but it’ll get the job done when you want some delivery pizza.
We tried the PizzaMan Special with the addition of anchovies and bell peppers (don’t know it until you’ve tried it).
Overall, as you might imagine with that intro, it was decent enough. I’m not going to say it was epic, or even better than say if you’d gone to the grocery store and gotten frozen pizza to cook. However, you don’t always want to get into your car and drive to the store when your pizza craving hits.
And, as on the night that I ordered, of the three pizza delivery services that I called, these guys were the only ones who would actually deliver to my house. (Seriously, one place was less than three miles away, what’s a guy gotta do to get some zza?). They get love for that.
If you’re looking for perfectly decent delivery, Pizza Man Dan’s isn’t...
Read moreSuper disappointed in the salad bar. I was soooo excited to hear the salad bar was open for full service. However that is NOT really the case especially with the RANCH. I purchased 2 all you can eat salads. After making my salad I noticed they did not have ranch as an option. When I asked about it the cashier who was so sweet kindly said it is behind the counter for sale. $0.75 cents a cup or $5 a bowl. I think it's BS that you are forced to choose another option of dressing or PAY for their ranch. The other option is you can bring in a cup of ranch from somewhere else that THEY think is better than theirs and they will provide you with free ranch. I guess I need a drive to Toppers just to bring in a cup of ranch so they can give it to me for free. Looks like I'll be sticking to my favorite place Toppers from now on.
Toppers ranch is by far the best in ventura county. AND they don't charge you for it when you're...
