Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican — Restaurant in Vernal

After spending a full day driving down to Vernal Utah from Bozeman Montana, my wife and I decided to go into this restaurant because it was in the same parking lot as the hotel that we were staying at. We checked their website which said that they were open until 9 PM, since it was only 8:05 pm we went over. We opened the door and an employee that was cleaning a table informed us that they were closed and other employees nodded their heads in agreement, thinking maybe hours were different because of the COVID-19 restrictions we went ahead and went to another restaurant close by. When we returned to our hotel room at 8:35 we noticed there was a line inside the restaurant ordering at the counter of about six people, as it turns out the employee that we initially encountered lied straight to our face in an effort to get out early. I guess this manager at this restaurant believes that they make enough money that they can shut down early and turn down customers even after all the shut down from COVID-19. Whoever is in charge of this restaurant has extremely poor management skills at this is the type of thing that goes on. I love Cafe Rio Food and this location is up to standards for food taste and quality. My issue was with the order preoaration.

My lesser rating is due to the fact that I ordered 2 burritos, only cheese on top, and one of them came enchilada style with sauce on top.... this makes the texture awful and the tortilla soggy (IMO, which is the one that matters since I paid for it an was going to eat it).

When I tried calling, no answer. So, now I have a trash burrito, and nobody to complain to after spending $13 on a burrito made incorrectly. I also won't go back and have it remade. 13 hr day, just got home and I'm not leaving again. Thats what phone numbers are for, if they would answer.

I double checked my order. Both burritos say cheese only on top. (I dip things in sauce, never sauce on top. Too soggy.) Yes, I had ordered them to be reheated. So my picture, the correctly made burrito is in the fridge. The enchilada burrito will go in the trash.⁰

I wont continue to support a place that sacrifices customer service, including answering phones. Sad. Because I liked Cafe...

Extremely simple order of chips and salsa ordered online for curbside. Parked in the correct space and waited 10 minutes. Nobody came out so I called the store. They said they would be out in a few minutes. I then saw them locking the door because they were closing so I rushed in and my order was sitting on the counter. When I explained to them that I've been outside waiting for 20 plus minutes for my curbside order and had called the lady said "we got busy." I don't understand how they were too busy to bring me my chips and salsa but I saw them run several orders out to other people. I understand that mistakes happen but just apologize. Not only did I give them a chance to make it right by calling them but then when I went into the store as they were locking it the lady did not apologize then either. We visited Vernal on a family vacation and everybody in this town is extremely friendly I was very disappointed in the service of this place. It appears to be a chain which is why I say you should always go...
