Why can't I do zero stars? I will never set foot in this store again. For the third year in a row, I ordered sandwiches as an end of the year gift for my daughter's teachers. I went in on a Wednesday (in person) and ordered them for an 11:45 delivery on Friday. TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE! On Friday, I heard from one of the teacher's at 12:15 suggesting that I should give JJs a call. When I did, all the guy could say is, "I'm sorry. We got busy." They were just packing the sandwiches then. I had 14 teachers, who only get 30 minutes for lunch, waiting almost an hour to eat. This was supposed to be a special lunch for them to enjoy as a gift to show our appreciation. The teachers were wonderful and told me not to freak out. Why shouldn't I freak out when my "freakishly fast" delivery that I ordered 48 hours in advance was almost an hour late. Whoever is in charge obviously doesn't know how to schedule his employees. When I went in to order, the guy received two calls that sat on hold for at least 10 minutes while I placed the order and another guy walked in and had to wait. It was obvious that only one employee was there at the time. And when they know in advance that they had a 14 sandwich order and don't have enough staff to make those sandwiches on time as well as handle other orders, something is obviously wrong. Called back the next day to speak to a manager. Again, he would just say how busy they were. No kidding, but shouldn't a restaurant that goes by the motto, "freakishly fast" have the staff to make that happen? He started to offer a credit of some sort, but I didn't want him to think it was the money that I was after. I just wanted him to know that something is seriously wrong. In hindsight, I probably should have taken the credit. It was almost $100 in sandwiches that didn't get enjoyed as they should have. NEVER AGAIN VERNON HILLS...
Read moreWhat can I say, it's Jimmy John's. If you're into cold, soggy, bland sandwiches that occasionally contain frozen lettuce and/or cheese (which melt and makes the bread even soggier) then you'll gladly eat at this place, but if you want a real sandwich look elsewhere.
Service was okay, I got in and out within about 7 minutes. The place gets packed around lunch hour since it's near corporate companies and one of a handful of places nearby. I was hungry and saw Chipotle had at least triple the business this place had (the line was starting to form outside the door) and decided to suck it up and try terrible Jimmy John's once again.
Since this is the burbs the price is very reasonable compared to the city. Immediately after biting into my tuna club I was met with disappointment as always with Jimmy John's.
Stay away from JJ's until they get their act together. I can't understand why people flock...
Read moreNot happy. Cuz they to scared to deliver to me. I am sorry that I live in my car. But I am not going to freeze my ass to go to the hotel lobby. I am not going to rob or steal from your Damn driver. I have a job, I am also a delivery driver. I work too hard for my money. I just can't offord a hotel room. And why do I need to tell my business to everyone? I am a customer that has money to buy food and your driver would have gotten a 5 dollar tip. For bringing my food to my car. U costed your driver money for not delivering to me. I love Jimmy johns food. But to help a person that isn't going to harm anyone. Rude. This isn't the Southside chicago or waukegan to deliver to a car and not wanting to deliver to them. Because of the area they maybe in. But for goodness sakes this is Vernon Hills, IL. It's not a rat whole AND not crime...
