Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Vernon Township

Don’t go to this Dairy Queen. Ever since this establishment has gone under new management it’s went down hill. At first it was their milkshakes, occasionally it would have a bit of cookie from the last drink they made which was normal you can’t expect them to clean it perfectly every time. But it kept happening. At one point as I was driving home with my vanilla milkshake I found a peanut in it. I let it go since it was the first time it happened to me and I was not allergic. Then I went again and found five in my vanilla shake. So I went in with the peanut and told the about it and how my cousin almost took a sip from it. She is allergic. Instead of remaking, refunding. Or just saying sorry. All they did was say ok and completely dismissed the problem. I have loved this place for most of my life and it is sad...

I've been coming to this location for close to 30 years now, and unfortunately they finally decided to get greedy. I ordered the same thing that I've gotten hundreds of times before (a large ice cream in a cup), only this time I was given half of the ice cream I would normally expect. Not only that but the price was insulting. I could have gotten a pint of Ben & Jerry's for less money and it would have included double the ice cream. Also, this location has become very run down and grimy. The owners should use some of that extra money they're gouging from customers to fix the place up a bit. Please don't waste your money here and instead go down the road to Acme and purchase from their large selection of...

UPDATED April 2022: serving sizes still over the top (in a good way!), but that sometimes leads to mega-melting and mess! Fewer staff on site at the start of the season. They do a great job making the tasty treats, but it slows down the service. Be prepared to wait (worth it). If the water park at Mountain Creek opens up, the lines get EXTRA long.

Serving sizes are GENEROUS and the lines move well, especially when there are several employees working at the same time. It's popular, so know that and temper expectations when you go, as you will wait if the line is long. Even with COVID-19 guidelines in place, the line will move...
