Corporate never responded to my email, even after explaining in detail my conversation with the manager about the situation and her admitting fault, so I’ll try Google… This is in regard to a takeout experience on Sunday, Sept 1, 2024 at the Vero Beach, FL location. I ordered a bang bang shrimp, coconut shrimp, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, fries and bread. This comes out to $42.10 plus tax of $2.95 plus a 15% tip of $6.32. Grand total: $51.37. I wouldn’t consider this a cheap meal. Unfortunately my order was missing the coconut shrimp and included a very random side of spinach that I did not order. The side of asparagus was maybe 5 stalks and the Brussels sprouts included maybe 5 half pieces of Brussels. The fries, with potatoes being the least expensive ingredient ordered, were maybe a handful. Don’t even get me started on the 8 or 9 measly pieces of shrimp for the bang bang shrimp portion of the order. And like I said, no coconut shrimp or bread. After having spoken to the manager, Samantha about the issue, the excuses were so outrageous that at that point I did feel it necessary to bring this experience to Corporate’s attention. She admitted fault, but the excuses as to the why or the how it happened have solidified my opinion that Bonefish has truly become just another chain that really does not care about customer experience. I have been dining at Bonefish for years. I am a permanent resident of FL (not a snowbird) so we dine at Bonefish on the off season which brings money into their restaurant during a time many Vero Beach restaurants are struggling. The manager explained that the reason we didn’t get our coconut shrimp and bread was because they ran out because of the holiday weekend. A holiday that comes every year since the late 1800’s… I’m not an unreasonable person, so I asked, couldn’t you have just called me to tell me that you didn’t have coconut shrimp and bread, so that I could have chosen something different? Instead, the restaurant just didn’t put it in the bag at all yet still charged me for it, and sent me on my way. So here I am, all the way back home and not enough food to feed my family, simply because the restaurant chose not to inform me that they couldn’t fulfill the coconut shrimp. Truly unacceptable, and highly disappointing. Corporate needs to know this happened at one of their restaurants and to a loyal customer. Blatantly ripped off and deceived. There is no other way to describe...
Read moreA welcoming atmosphere, ingenious idea of the paper on the tables for a clean and sanitary surface to eat upon; we live here in Vero and have tried a couple of times to eat at the Bone Fish Grill, but long wait times have deterred us in the past. Last night we called for a reservation and our table was waiting for us when we arrived. Hosts were very cordial and welcoming at the door, seating us promptly. Pricing of the restaurant is not very family friendly, party of 6 and the bill came to $150.00 with two people getting a hamburger and one fish and chips. We informed the waitress that we have never eaten at the Bone Fish Grill so you would think at a minimum of 15% gratuity, the waitress would go out of her way to make us feel welcome, first impressions are everything for a growing local business. Upon serving our meals, the waitress knocked over a drink on the table, yes accidents happen, hey I get that, apology accepted, but the drink should have been immediately replaced, but it wasn’t. To beat all, we were billed for the drink spilled and we had to kindly inform her of her error. The appetizer of Sesame Tuna was out of this world awesome, but from then on not so good. For a $12.00 overly greasy hamburger with added mushrooms for an additional 90 cents with mediocre shredded lettuce, tiny slice of tomato and onion on the side and a handful of homemade potato chips is unjustified for the cost. Shredded lettuce is not high end dining, really! Another of the meals had giant pieces of peanuts that ruined the texture and consistency of the meal, needless to say one of the parties of 6 went home hungry because she didn’t like the giant peanuts in the meal; waitress never came back to the table to ask us if the food was good or if she could get us anything else. We had to catch her on the run to bring us anything extra, literally on the run, overworked? Too many tables to serve? Management should be out on the floor managing, Gordon Ramsey here you go. Needless to say, we will not be returning to give it...
Read moreBONEFISH GRILL - Vero Beach… I’ve been coming to Bonefish Grill Vero Beach for the last 10 years and LOVE it ! For the past 3 years on every Sunday night at 4:45 PM, I have dinner there with my 90-year-old mother, and we have done so for the past 3 years. We cannot express enough praise & gratitude towards this restaurant, beginning with keys Laura & Sarah, the manager team of Samantha, Carlos & Stacy, front desk hostesses Ollie, Harley, Roselyn, & Sophia, server assistant Emily, servers Lilly & Jordan, Angelica, Aiden, Terrance, & Amy, South Florida VP Manager Dorothy Malone, and the rest of the entire staff that works so hard every day and night to make Bonefish Grill VERO a must visit destination in Vero Beach.
And every Sunday, mom and I are fortunate enough to have the same staff member wait on us in Booth 412 ~ server extraordinaire Lilly Vercellotti. It’s Lilly who truly makes our experience as special as it is each night we visit. Her attention to detail, her warmness, her sense of urgency, her listening, her advice, her professionalism, her expertise on all things Bonefish, and the way she takes care of us night after night is one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back every week to Bonefish Grill.
And it goes without saying, there is a magnificent assortment of food served at this outstanding establishment from the salmon, the grilled shrimp, the trout, the scallops, the Ahi Tuna Poke, the fish & chips, the mussels, the Bang-Bang Shrimp, the corn chowder with lump crab, the Caesar salad, the tempura crunch sashimi tuna, the steaks, the chicken, the fontina pork tenderloin, the burger, and the drunken coconut pie are all prepared superbly. One can never go wrong ~ with whatever one orders.
3 years and counting… and we plan to continue this tradition every Sunday night. Bravo to Lilly V and the rest of the team at Bonefish Grill Vero Beach. There is no other place we’ll ever be on Sunday evening - except right...
