Unbelievable! I just placed an order with this store and mistakenly selected "Carryout" instead of "Delivery" on the app. I called the store immediately and spoke with Tiffany, who adjusted my order to delivery and adjusted the total. I mentioned that I am a truck driver and currently tethered to the dock at my shipper, and cannot leave to pickup the carryout. After we hung up, she called me back within a minute or two to tell me that she had just spoken with her manager, and he informed her that "we do not deliver to big rigs."
I asked her why as it's never been a problem before, and that over two years of driving I have had Papa Johns deliver to my truck, parked on the street and at shippers/receivers many times without issue. Beside that fact, I told her that I'm not even going to be in my truck when they deliver, I will be on the sidewalk in front of my shipper's facility. She told her manager, who told her again that they will not service diesel trucks. I asked to speak with the manager directly.
The manager answered with a trying-to-sound-tough "This is the manager." I asked him what the problem was since I've had dozens of deliveries directly to my truck from other Papa Johns stores around the country. I asked him what the difference was between delivering to a house or an apartment and a truck. He told me, and I really am quoting here, "Trucks move. I'm not saying this is you, but there are a lot of bad people in the world, and it wouldn't take anything for someone to grab one of my little female delivery drivers and be on the interstate before I even knew." I immediately demanded his name, and he told me it was "Ken" and he was the general manager.
As a husband and father that hasn't even had so much as a speeding ticket I am blown away. First, that I would be accused of being such a horrible person that I am a danger to his "little female delivery drivers" simply over my chosen profession. I suppose it's ok for truck drivers to transport Papa Johns ingredients across the country to their distribution centers, but not okay for drivers to be treated with the same level of respect and decency afforded to the rest of the population. My wife was so blown away when I relayed this story to her that she took it upon herself to call the manager, and he repeated the same words, without apology, to her.
What I gather from this experience is that Ken is discriminating against me, as a male truck driver, and against his "little female delivery drivers" as he clearly doesn't think they can handle a basic aspect of their job. I don't care who delivers the pizza, I was just hoping to have a nice hot lunch today. After 3 months on the road away from my wife and kids, running 70-80 hour weeks to keep grocery stores, pharmacies and even the local Papa Johns cold warehouse stocked, that wouldn't be too much to ask for. Apparently Ken thinks that's a luxury that truck drivers aren't worth affording.
I informed Ken that I would be contacting Corporate and he made it clear he did not care. I did call Papa Johns Corporate, my complaint is being escalated and I am reaching out to...

Not sure how a pizza and some wings was $60 - that should've been my first red flag that I wasn't thinking clearly.
Firstly, upon picking up the order, I had interacted by some of the most unprofessional people I had ever dealt with in my life. I felt as though I had found myself on the set of some kind of Chris Hanson special based on the people behind the counter - I'm just glad they stayed there.
As to the food itself - I'm not sure how, but the pizza was both soggy and dry at the same time. I was actually overwhelmingly impressed at the level of skill it would require to obtain that sort of equilibrium. The "meat" had the consistency of beef jerky, and I'm somewhat sure that I had inadvertently picked some sort of aged cheese. For a moment, I thought I had bitten off a part of the box, until some of the watery sauce dripped off my chin onto my favorite shirt.
The wings were pretty mid, I probably could've gone to the winco down the street and nuked up some myself, thrown some random sauce on there and had a much more enjoyable time.
Buyer beware - save your money, and go get some good pizza from one of the local places. I won't name them here, but there are 2 far better options less than 2 miles away.
Thanks Papa John's Victorville off Roy Rogers, you've managed to ruin both my pizza enjoyment experience and my...
Read moreHaven't even got my food yet and have a bad taste in my mouth. I placed an order over the app and the app said that my order was going to take 44-54 min. I though it was a bit excessive since I was pretty much at the location already. So I decided to go inside and ask if it was going to really take that long so instead I can cancel my order. So I can instead go elsewhere. I proceeded inside the papa John's only to be greeted by two rude people workers. Obviously hating their life there. All I asked since I barely placed the order is if it was really going to take that long so I can possibly go next door to eat. Don't know why the worker took it as an attack when I asked politely and didn'teven get to finish my question. I would've understood why. Instead I got responded in a condescending way. Bad way to talk to a Veteran with a short fuse. Luckily for them I contained myself since I felt pity for them. This place needs to talk to their staff when it comes to respect and should be taught how to actively listen enstead of interrupting my sentence before it ends. This is why we have two ears and even though I'm going deaf in one ear. I have better listening skills then these sad people. Hopefully my food wasn't spit on. Wasn't...
