The food is good but not worth the money.
Problems with this place: all experience has been in drive-thru
It's impossible to order some items because they aren't on the menu.
If I order Biscuits and Gravy I am asked how many eggs I want. ???
I heard someone else order Garlic Shooters so I ordered some and they want to know if I want garlic sauce, garlic mayo or garlic with ketchup. I ask what is in the garlic sauce and they tell me mayo and garlic. How is that different from garlic mayo? she doesn't know.
I ordered three shooters and am given a total at the window of over $4.00. She then asks if I wanted cheese and fries... "no". Finally they get the total worked out but when I get the shooters they all have cheese.
None of the breakfast stuff has prices STILL. I think they've been open for over a month.
Tea is posted on the menu board as 1.49 for all sizes but they constantly ring 1.99 for a large and have to fix it.
Ordered Biscuits and Gravy and they took that. Then I ordered Sausage and Egg biscuit and was told they had no sausage. They are supposed to put sausage in the gravy but they are o.k. with just making it wrong. They didn't have sausage for the next 4 days. Finally when they had sausage I came back to order the sandwich and was told they had no biscuits.
This was the last time we went. Way too much trouble for the length of time to wait in line and end up with disappointment.
On the plus side, the staff here is amazingly courteous. Also, what food we've been able to sample has been superior to other places. We do like the Chili 5-way but for some reason it is smaller than the Chili-Mac and costs $2 more. If not for the taste and staff I wouldn't have bothered trying so many times.
Oh, and $2.50 for a large drink in drive thru with no refills? It isn't even mixed well; brand new place and the soda machines don't mix drinks well. Get a...
Read moreDespite the food being delicious and cooked to perfection, customer service is hands down terrible. I went through the drive-thru, ordered about $30 worth of food, and they forgot a sandwich. I called in to let them know they had missed a sandwich and I had my receipt. They took down my name, phone number, and receipt number and had told me to ask for Bridgette the store manager. I went in the next day to get a refund and was hassled by the manager, his name is Steve. He did not seem interested in helping me or looking for my information to validate I called in the day before. He didn't even want to see my receipt. After about 2 minutes of waiting for him to comprehend that I only wanted a refund for the sandwich, he FINALLY have me a refund of $6. No receipt. Then my boyfriend wanted some shooters, so we went through the drive-thru. We had our order messed up once again. They tried to overcharge us by adding fries to our order when we only wanted shooters. The people they hire are just rude and obviously trained to be robots. We had asked for stickers and the guy at the first window completely ignored us and then looked over only to say "Do you want anything else? You pick up your food at the next window" then at the next window we asked again for stickers and the girl only said "Did you already pay for your food?" We replied yes and asked for stickers again, and she seemed very confused. Then she asked "What do you mean? Like sticker stickers?" I really felt like they had just opened that day and had no idea what they were doing. If they hired smart people who know how to actually listen, then they just might be one of the best places up here in the desert, hopefully one day they wise up because the...
Read moreWORST. After 56 years of eating at Steak 'n Shakes this place doesn't deserve the name. After ordering a take out I sat at the counter and watched. The cook did not have any disposable food servers gloves on and once he noticed me he went in back, around a corner, and came back with gloves on. Prior to that I watched as he wiped his hands on his apron and jeans. Most of the other employee's preparing food did have on gloves. The crew was less than proficient, seemingly at odds with each other. No professionalism like I have learned to expect. Steak 'n Shake usually rivals Shake Shack, In and Out, and White Castle for top crews. Management walked back and forth with no real purpose. I watched my meal and drink readied. The shake, I was to find, was served only half filled and the chocolate tasted cheap. The hamburgers were NOT cooked and served as ordered. The relish was NOT the original mustard / relish but green dyed pickle parts and disgusting. The onions were cooked NOT served fresh as ordered and disgusting. The buns were cheap and not toasted well at all and disgusting. Only the fries were as to be expected and the meat tasted about right. All in all a very unpleasant meal. I'll drive north for 2 and 1/2 more hours to eat at a real Steak 'n Shake at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Vegas. DO NOT EAT AT THE VICTORVILLE CALIFORNIA FAKE STEAK...
