Restaurant Review "Canaima Venezuelan Food"
Located just steps from W Broad St, Canaima offers an exceptional culinary experience for lovers of Venezuela's most famous dishes. From the moment you enter, the atmosphere takes you directly to a little corner of Venezuela, its music, its atmosphere and its people make the experience unique!
I tried two dishes, the "Cachapa Velo de Novia" and the "Patacón", both recommended by Mrs Ana, a lovely person. The cachapa, being a corn tortilla with a special cheese brought from Venezuela, is a sensation of soft textures and incredible flavor, now the "PATACÓN" was my favorite, I ordered it with yellow plantain (soft) it is a roller coaster of flavors, it has the sauce special of the house that without a doubt I asked what it was, it was very delicious, everything accompanied with the traditional "Papelón con Limón", the meats in both dishes were juicy, well cooked, I had no problem with it.
The service of Mrs. Ana and young Jesús was unmatched, they offered me recommendations that helped in my choice, the atmosphere transports you for a few minutes to the beautiful country of Venezuela, being not only a place to eat but a small demonstration of something unforgettable. gastronomy.
In short, "Canaima" is a little piece of Venezuela in our city! And if you are a gastronomic adventurer like me, I recommend this place, so you can enjoy a feast of flavors...
Read moreFound this newly opened gem just around the corner. I love NY Style pizza and supporting small business so I stopped in and grabbed a menu. When there I met the owner and was immediately impressed with his excitement and passion! The next day I decided to give it a try.
I got a large 1/2 & 1/2 two topping pie and some cheesy bread. 100% FANTASTIC!!! The sauce had a delicate garlic and olive oil flavor like a classic Italian red sauce. The cheese was a good quality blend. The toppings looked and tasted fresh. And the crust was the crowning jewel - good firm thin across the pie with hearty and fluffy ring on the outside!
And my order was ready fast! It was a perfectly quoted time especially considering they had a few tables, other pick up guests and several 3rd party delivery pick ups all at the same time!
Definitely give this place a shot. You won’t be disappointed!!!
I give five stars hands down for passion and quality of service and product!
But there are a couple drawbacks. There hours of operation have them closing at 8pm where most pizza restaurants stay open until at least 10pm-11pm. Typically when I order pizza it’s later, especially on weekends. Additionally they do not deliver themselves. I prefer/trust delivery over 3rd party delivery.
But don’t let these drawbacks deter you from tasting this...
Read moreI’m not sure where these four star reviews are coming from. The pizza I had today was subpar at best. The cheese on my son’s cheese pizza was floating in grease (see the close-up picture), and my “White Funghi” pizza was greasy, falling apart, and made with undercooked dough.
I bought my wife a veggie pizza to go, and she ate it after it had been in our fridge for a few hours. She said it was “okay.”
I feel bad for writing this because the staff were friendly and the inside had a nice decor, which is why I gave it two stars instead of one. Perhaps the chefs were just having a bad day today. I would try the pizza again if it were free, but as of now, I would never pay for it.
I know how hard it is to make a living nowadays, and I would hate to see these people go out of business, so please, if you’re the owner of this pizzeria, either hire a better pizza chef or teach your staff to make a better pizza. What I had...
