They often say change is for the better..but as a patron of this Chipotle for over 10+ years, this does not apply.
In 2010, I left this area to attend VCU and the chipotle there was absolutely the best i've ever had. It was managed and employed by students so they understood the importance of food quality AND quantity.
Several years ago, this establishment changed management and with it, many of its employees. It was formerly employed by high school students and young adults but now has changed to mostly middle aged women. Upon coming back on a monthly basis from that point in 2010, the quality and taste was just..off. It didn't taste like the chipotle of old and was not close to resembling it. Since then the idea of eating here was a turn off.
Fast forward many years and things have still not changed for the better. As of 12/17/20, I have maybe eaten here twice in the last three years and that is sad, considering I used to come there every other day ordering at least 2 bowls/burritos per sitting.
Being around Ktwone that day, I decided to stop by BK for lunch- the lines were so long I had to opt for something else..chipotle. This is ironic considering it is usually my first choice.
Upon ordering a simple burrito for lunch, it fell apart as soon as I unwrapped the foil. The burrito was not overstuffed to any nature but the folds were so pathetic it turned into a bowl in several bites.
My former love for this place is an understatement..as a bodybuilder, you want foods that are healthy and nutritious but even then, the quality has me pushing for the KFC/Taco Bell and BK instead.
It is somewhat depressing to see lines for unhealthy greasy food pile up while supposedly fresh hormone free affordable foods only have several customers.
Was the food terrible? Not by a long shot, but this place has seen...
Read moreI am writing this review due to the horrible experience I encountered at the Kingstowne chipotle. Normally I always have a great experience but this time I did not which is why i am writing this review. I came with my sister because we were craving chipotle around 9 before closing time. We thought they still have an hour before closing. When we came in, a young lady that had a butterfly tattoo on the front of her neck was cleaning the glass in front of the food. She did not acknowledge us while we stood there for 5 minutes until her coworker came out and he did not say anything to us either. He asked what we wanted and proceeded to serve our food. Meanwhile the food was still pushed back and the girl was still cleaning the glass windows(where the food should be) now there was a line behind us. She was taking her sweet time and her and the one that was serving us were just pretty much having their own side conversation about him leaving early, again while not acknowledging the customers. Then after, she was serving us, she gave my sister and I an attitude complaining to her coworker about serving the customers. Which I did not take likely. The guy checking us out with glasses also not having a care in the world, asked “anything else?” I said a fountain drink and he slammed down the cup in which did not land right and ended up falling to the floor. Much to say, I had the worst experience there. If they can next time actually clean I don’t know 15 minutes before closing time, then there wouldn’t be this bad review on those three employees . Also if they can acknowledge customers when they come in and leave they would have more customers coming back. They should hire people that actually want to work and not people who want to mess around. It’s a business, they should...
Read moreI went to this chipotle a few months back, it was an hour before closing but staff were already acting like the place was closed. I was rushed to get my order, I understand where they are coming from so it didn’t bother me much. The problem is that while I was ordering, they were cleaning behind the food counter right behind the glass. One worker handed the other a small bucket of soapy water, and I watched it spill into my food. It wasn’t the whole bucket of water but there were a few splashes in there. I looked at the employee and she immediately was like, “oh thank goodness nothing fell in there” and I told her that I was pretty sure some did. She assured me that it didn’t, insisted on it. And I wasn’t about to argue with her. I paid for my bowl and had to throw it away in the trash outside the restaurant. I could have argued with these people about it, had them make it all over again or just walk out. But this particular employee was already annoyed that I had the nerve to walk in an hour before they closed and was the same one rushing me out. I heard her yell as soon as I walked in, not sure what she said but I know it was because I was in there. So I was not about to annoy this already irritated employee. The staff here truly don’t care and I know they love to argue with customers so I was not about to be on the receiving end of that. I genuinely do not like this location, I truly believe that the staff and management suck. You are better off going somewhere else. I usually don’t write reviews but I’ve never had someone put soapy water in my food, watched it go in and then proceed to tell me that it...
