Our office ordered a chicken nugget platter today for a work party. Because all platters are considered catering there was no delivery option. I arrived at 11:30 to pick up the order. The drive though was already backed up into the mall road. There store had set up cones and blocked off the area where I could park. The other side of the building was all drive through lanes with no parking. There was no other way to enter and no curbside spots at all anywhere. They also did not have anyone directing traffic. So I got into the drive through line. About 15 minutes later I had it to the employee who let me know they could not bring any catering orders to me in the drive through, I had to go inside. When I complained about waiting and no place to park he offered to move the cones. I went inside and stood for about 5 minutes before any employee acknowledged there was a customer inside. I asked for the manager. I complained to her about the fact that they could not give me my order in the drive through after I had been waiting. She handed me my bag and said it was policy that they do not deliver catering or give it out in the drive through because it is too much to handle. It must be picked up inside. My bag had the order which was 1 small chicken nugget platter and sauce. The platter was in a container the same size as the salads and it was a small squeeze container of sauce. I have spent more and had a larger bag ordering food for my family in the drive through, but since she did not seem to realize How ridiculous she sounded I moved on. Fine if this is your policy then why does the store not have a place for customers to park and pick up their food or a way into the parking lot at all. The Manager at Yoder Plaza said to me "We do not control the traffic, and it is not our problem. Maybe you should park over in the mall and walk here" Really that is the best you can do?
The only thing that separates Chick-fil-a from all the other fast food is customer service. If I wanted chicken with a side of attitude I can get it cheaper and faster anywhere in Newport News. Total fail on your customer service today and we will not be ordering...
Read moreOpening hours says 6 A.M. This location opened during the pandemic. Nothing on the doors/windows indicate specific dine in hours or policy of such. I arrived at this location at ~750 A.M. I asked may I use your bathroom and also place an order. I was politely told no for the bathroom but I can place an order. I was okay with this if they weren't allowing dine-in at all, however I was told they aren't allowing dining in at the moment but they do allow dine in. Also, which is fine. I just didn't see the need to find another store to use their restroom...then come back to the place with a restroom... to order food with no policy indicating dine-in and non dine-in hours. I envisioned using the restroom then waiting outside in drive thru for the food. Not waiting inside, not sitting to eat inside, just using your bathroom that would be available I guess at a specific hour of the day that's not indicated for public view. The food is good, the service is usually exceptional but having a buying customer leave then come back under those conditions would be ridiculous... especially if you plan to open up the inside facility for customers at hours not indicated. Unfortunately, no order, no bathroom. Place a sign on the door please...
Read moreFood is good if fresh & hot. Ice cream cones are not ok. You pay over $2.00 and they try to hand you a cone of ice cream like they give a little kid. I have it back every time & request my money back and they remake it. All the food is good as long as fresh & HOT. When sandwiches sit on a hot lamp for too long the breading on the chicken gets soggy & sometimes the the breaded chicken loses its taste. So I try to go when I know it's gonna be fresh/ by the first 30 minutes before lunch and or dinner. Do not inconvenience them. Cause some people get an attitude if you tell them sorry this is not hot. Because whoever is back there will hand them whatever is under the heat lamp ignoring the " she wants a fresh sandwich". And when I tell them it's not hot, they have to walk back & forth. I had one person tell me one time " I told them you wanted a fresh hot sandwich" & they would say to me the cook doesn't care. They are not the one who has to walk back and forth all day when they ignore the fresh and hot sandwich. So when I can I go at times when meals start. The salt and sugar in tea's & shakes depends on your taste and if your watching your intake for...
