I recently had the pleasure of visiting MyEyeLab in Newport News for my annual eye exam and eyewear needs, and I am absolutely thrilled with the exceptional service and care I received. From start to finish, the entire experience was outstanding.

First and foremost, the staff at MyEyeLab were incredibly welcoming and friendly. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm. Michele, Whitney and the others are true assets to this brand.

The eye exam itself was conducted by a highly knowledgeable and experienced optometrist who took the time to listen attentively to my concerns and explain each step of the process. They exhibited a deep understanding of their craft and used state-of-the-art equipment to perform a comprehensive examination of my eyes. I was impressed by their professionalism and dedication to ensuring the accuracy of my prescription.

In this day and age, we have grown to accept bad customer service, BUT that was NOT the case at the Stanton Optical in Newport News today!

As I entered the store, I was immediately greeted with a big smile by Whitney, who welcomed me to the store and asked how she could help me! The store was clean, well lit and very modern in design.

Since I was there to have an examination for both glasses and contacts, Whitney asked Alex to take me to pre-testing. There were five rather intimidating machines sitting before me, but Alex immediately took me to a high level of comfort as he explained each test before administrating them. I knew exactly what he was testing and why.

Next, I was taken into the exam room where I underwent my first virtual eye examination. How RAD! I honestly believe that the examination was one of the most comprehensive examinations I have ever had!

After the examination, I met Steve who also greeted me with a big smile as he introduced himself. He welcomed me to the store, and offered to assist me with the selection of my frames. There were more frames to choose from in this store than I have ever seen in any one optical store! Since I didn’t know what I wanted Steve, Alex and Whitney all chimed in and gave me truly honest opinions of what looked best for my facial structure.

Once the frames were selected, Steve explained to me all of the options I had with the lens of my new glasses, but without pressure. He was more concerned that I got what I wanted rather than forcing me to make quick decisions just for a sale!

My experience at Stanton Optical in Newport News could not have been more perfect. In addition to superb customer service, I felt as if I had not only acquired new glasses, but three new friends as well! It is obvious that Steve manages a staff that enjoys their work and enjoys working and interacting with customers!

I will definitely return to Stanton Optical for any of my future vision needs and I will make sure that I highly recommend Stanton Optical to all my family and friends!

Wonderful office, all around. Definitely a bit strange with the tech introduction aspect, but it was a better exam than I've gotten from an in-office optometrist. Exams are virtual, with in-office machinery. Weird, but works!

Selection I think I would grade maybe a C, especially if you're on a budget. I'd definitely review your insurance and options before you get to shopping. It's a little hard to dig for frames in some price ranges, but they are all color coded.

Whole staff was great interactions, no matter who I spoke to or asked questions, they were ready and able to answer. Everything from the prescription aspects, to the styling of the frames. I'm pretty picky with frames, and none of the staff made me feel like a burden. They keep in touch with you just enough while you shop, so it doesn't feel like an annoying sales pitch like most other places- or the other end of the spectrum where you can't ever find anyone for help whatsoever.

For frames they have so many options and combinations for glare, tint, blue-light, lens weight, and more. There's a lot of customization and the staff is well versed in what would suit your needs best.

I was working on a pretty slim budget, but they do have pre-approval processes for scheduled/split payments, which I've never seen as an in-office option.

Everyone I interacted with on staff that day was awesome, and Gianni was great! He walked me through the exam process and was great at explaining lens and payment options.

If you're used to a convenient office, or need something same day, definitely the best experience I've ever had. This is an office that can do same-day lenses depending on your lens choice. Definitely the most exceptional care I've received from an office like this- my new go-to.
