World Market Order Called at 10.40 regarding order 11060150672 which was placed online to pick up in store which showed it was in stock. I then received and email which stated:
We're sorry! Some of the items in your order weren't in stock. We are shipping them to your local store and will notify you as soon as they are ready for pick-up."
As it was sent four days prior and no further information was provided I called 877-967-5362 to ask questions. I was then told the item was on backorder; however, when I asked about the discrepancy in the online ordering which said it was in stock (which was not true) and then the email I received which said it was being shipped (again not true) I was told backorder meant it was being procured from the warehouse. I then stated that isn't what backorder meant and the representative said it is. I then gave the dictionary definition of backorder and the representative began arguing so I asked for management as i do not feel this is good customer service or quality service. I also believe it is deceptive as one thing is being said but is not true. I was then put on hold (5.55 minutes into call) and the music came on. At 1048 I was told to hold for a second but could hear staff in background but no one was on the phone. At 1050 I was again told to hold as manager was on another call at 1051 the music then started again. The after about a minute I spoke with manager/supervisor Yamir. She repeated the comments made by the customer service representative but would do nothing else except repeat the statements with no resolution. After 18 minutes and 18 seconds and asking to speak to her supervisor or a quality control representative, and being told I couldn't, I said I would call other numbers for the company. I thanked her and hung up. I have in the past bought many items from World Market. I have ordered items shown as in store and have been able to pick them up in a day or so. Being told I can wait up to three weeks or cancel is TERRIBLE...
Read moreI visited this place for the first time and I was awestruck by the massive selection they have to offer. I came primarily for the food items from around the world. As someone who's traveled alot to many diffrent countries I was exceedingly impressed with the range of goods world Market had to offer.
All of my favorite foods and snacks and even rare things I havnt tried before and have been looking forward to trying were stocked on the shelves. They also have an impressive supply of foreign liquors. As of their selection wasn't already impressive one of the staff members told me that they're preparing to receive about 900 new items. Fearing that some old items that I like would get replaced I asked them if they knew what items would ve going off the shelves to make space for the new items and they said "none!" Which is amazing.
On the subject of the staff, they were all so attentive and helpful. Maybe because I was in such a state of bliss over everything I looked a bit lost but several staff members greeted me and offered help and advice on products.
I really only came to the store in search of some Italian whole bean coffee but I walked out with so many other items to include my coffee. Marmite, Japanese Snack Boxes, Truff Brand Hot Sauce, elder flower Lemonaid and so much more! I could really spend so much money in that store if I didn't practice self control. But it's worth noting I was smiling from ear to ear getting to see so many of my favorite foods from around the world and even having the opportunity to purchase and try new ones. I highly recommend this place if your cultural background is not from the US and you're looking for something from back home or if you're just a fan of other cultures and want to taste something new and fun.
I know I've went on and on about the food but it's worth noting they also sell a great selection of furniture and they have a Beautiful fall selection already available...
Read moreWe have not been living near a World Market for the past few years, so we were eager to go again and see if we still loved it as much as we did years ago. YUP! Love love love this store! Such great items and ideas. I also love the fact that WM has regular sales and rewards so you really feel like you are getting a lot of "bang for the buck!" Return policy is awesome... makes you feel like you can go for it and buy it-- knowing that if you changed your mind when you got home, no problems. Best of all tho was the employees! Lori and another employee (I am blanking on her name rn) were so fantastic! They were so patient and knowledgeable with all my many questions and they really helped me find just what I was looking for.
