Ah, the fish sandwich at Custom Burger, nestled within the bustling Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. While the location may not evoke visions of culinary excellence, this unassuming eatery has managed to create a delightful surprise in the form of their fish sandwich.
As I took my first bite, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish. The fillet was perfectly cooked, with a crispy golden exterior that encased tender, flaky white flesh. It was a testament to the skill and attention to detail of the kitchen staff, who managed to achieve that delicate balance of textures.
The flavors were equally impressive. The fish had a mild, delicate taste that was complemented by a hint of tanginess from a zesty tartar sauce. It was a harmonious marriage of flavors that showcased the freshness of the fish and the well-balanced condiments.
But what truly set this fish sandwich apart was the attention given to the bun. Unlike the generic, mass-produced buns that plague many airport eateries, Custom Burger had taken the effort to source a soft and fresh bun. Its pillowy texture provided a comforting base for the fish, allowing all the flavors to meld together harmoniously.
While the fish sandwich at Custom Burger may not transport you to the shores of a coastal fishing village, it offers a pleasant surprise amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport. It is a testament to the fact that even in unexpected places, culinary gems can be found.
If you find yourself traversing the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and yearn for a satisfying meal, look no further than Custom Burger's fish sandwich. It is a reliable option that will satisfy your cravings, providing a brief respite from the chaos of travel and reminding you that good food can be found in the most...
Read moreTried this place on the recommendation from my son. Got a burger, tater tots, and a shake. $25. Ouch. I guess i can expect that for airport prices. Food was okay. What was absolutely abysmal was the 'service'. I cant really even call it that. The employees all acted like they were being put out by having to do anything. After getting my food from one of the slowest moving humans on the planet, I had to remind the woman behind the counter that I still needed my milkshake after she pushed my food to the end of the counter. I got the audible huff and eyeroll from her. The shake was only halfway mixed. Had to ask for a straw. Again, I got a healthy dose of attitude. She darted her eyes to the support beam which was hiding the bin with straws. I guess it was self serve at that point. Stupid me. I shou lkk d have used my x-ray vision to see them. I went to my gate to eat and noticed that they did not provide napkins. Even McDonalds remembers the napkins. I have never written a bad review in my 60 years on this planet, but i couldn't let this horrible experience go without voicing my utter disappointment. I am not ever expecting top notch service, but a little bit of social decorum and a modest amount of service is not too much to ask. Apparently, it was today. This will be my first and last experience with custom burger....
Read moreMy very first Custom Burger experience was the absolute worse! The manager or whatever his position is; was very unprofessional. Do not patronize this place. I paid for 2 turkey burgers and onion rings and waited for the food I purchased. I was then told by the rude manager/worker pictured below that onions weren't available. I was offered fries, and did not want fries. I asked what can you offer for my inconvenience, he replied, "nothing." I then asked for a refund of the onion rings, he sarcastically said to my wife and I, " oh it ain't a problem....easy fix." He then handed me a refund receipt and sarcastically said, here you go, and walk back up to were you purchase the food and someone will assist you. I stated to him, as a person in a leadership role, he should have apologized for any inconvenience and attempted to at least remain professional and maintain the integrity of the company's brand. The end result, I politely asked for a complete refund. His response to me was, "you ain't hurting me none!" I remain calm as my wife rubbed my back, we were then approached by another employee, more professional, and apologized for any inconvenience and refunded me my purchase back on my card. I am still here at Regan National Airport (12/16/2021), and very hungry, but I refuse to pay for weak and...
