The Great American Bagel Bakery — Restaurant in Virginia

PRICE made my whole year! I am on day 1 of our much needed family vacation. It's been a year already and it's only May. While in the Starbucks line, I had a hilarious conversation with Price and a lovely Starbucks employee. My soul needed those laughs! My upset stomach needed a plain bagel to calm down. Unfortunately, Starbucks only had cinnamon raisin. Beggars can't be choosers. Upon ordering, I find out that Price had paid for my much needed meal. What?!!! I teared up as I am doing now! When I came back to my family, Price came over with a freshly toasted plain bagel and cream cheese from the Bagel store. I have never received a generous gesture like this. My heart is full! I walked into this location and seated myself, seeing no host and no signage to the contrary. The older gentleman asked the woman, did you seat table 1? She replied, no, they seated themselves. The man looked at me and shouted “that’s a great way not to get served…there’s a sign that says ‘wait to be seated.’”

It turns out there is a sign when entering the restaurant through one of the two entrances, but not the other. We got up and left. What a terrible way to “welcome” people into your establishment.

Terrible service. We stood there while they complained about not wanting to be working then with an attitude they asked us what we ordered. We told them we haven't ordered anything. They were so busy joking around they didn't even notice we hadn't put an order in yet. Then gave us an attitude when asking what we wanted. We had to reach over the counter to pickup our order since with no effort she set it on the back counter and walked away.
