Food is good but they're terrible at timing, employees have a habit of lying, and there is a bit of gaslighting. As far as timing, when I started ordering from this place 5 years ago, I really enjoyed their food (still do, but it's a pain dealing with them), but it would take forever. I used to think it was just delivery, but at this point takeout orders have terrible timing as well. It's definitely the cooks messing up and either losing or ignoring tickets, because even take out orders on a simple pasta dish take an hour. With delivery, they used to estimate it would take 1.5 hours to get to you. Sometimes they'd get there on time. Sometimes they wouldn't show up & I'd have to call or drive there anyway. I'd have to argue to get my delivery fee back, etc. So, I switched to take out. However, even then, they'd forget items on the order. The size of the order would vary and get smaller and smaller (i.e. calzones), and when I'd ask the staff would say "no, they have a standard they follow, so that tiny calzone is standard." Or, after I'd paid, tell me they didn't have an item and try to sub it for an item that was 1/2 price without reimbursing me (on one occasion, we ordered a brownie sundae and they gave us chocolate cake and said "it's our version of a brownie". At the time, the cake was $2 or $3 less than the brownie. Another time it was cheesecake). The first time I got frustrated after 2-3 visits in a row where I had issues, so I took a break from them for a few months. When I tried them again, I'd have some okay orders, and then on others I'd find that they still had the same issues. Eventually I got fed up again and I took a break from ordering from this place for about 2 years. Took a chance on them again 3 months ago, only ordering pizzas. No issue if I ordered only 1 pizza. Tried expanding to pasta last week. Order was fine. They said 30 mins, I get there 5 mins after that (i.e. a total of 35 mins), and they take 10 more mins to get everything ready. Okay. Fine. 45 mins. Well, today they said 35 mins. I get there 6 mins late (41 mins total) b/c I know they're bad and timing, and they say 5 more mins. I see they've made the pizza knuckles, but not the pasta dishes. Having made them myself, I know they take maybe 5 mins to make. I watch the pasta station for 20 mins for the guy to even start my order, and it takes him 5 mins to make the dish... I'm so angry at this point I just want to knock some boxes on the floor. It took an hour and they lied to me and multiple other people on how long it would take. If you order from here, do not tip beforehand, and just know that your order may be late by 30 mins to 1 hour even if you're picking it...
Read moreThe food was mediocre, at best. I had a Greek salad with gyro meat. The meat was overcooked and the dressing was sweet, not at all like any other Greek dressing I have had. I would have given it 3 stars but we had another issue that ruined our meal. The place must seat over 100 people and they have 2 single-occupancy bathrooms. We were one of a small handful of tables so the place wasn't very crowded. Our young sons, 4 and 6, both simultaneously had potty emergencies, so our 6YO went in the men's room and our 4YO went in the women's. Well, our 6YO just had to pee but our 4YO had other business to attend to. After he was in there for a while our server started announcing loudly to us and anyone else in the restaurant that was interested that "he has been in there for a while" and he's in the ladies room. Well first of all, he's 4 and, second, you don't rush kids off the toilet. After stopping by our table every few minutes to update us that he's still in the bathroom and then going back to the kitchen area to have a high-volume conversation about it with other employees, she starts heading off anyone going in that direction and loudly telling them, they can only use the men's room because OMG there's a little boy in the ladies' room and "HE'S BEEN IN THERE A WHILE!!!" Some advice for Delia's: install more than 2 toilets in your restaurant, give parents a little slack, and if you cut the meat off the spit and it's dry as shoe leather, toss it. Don't put it in my salad. Oh, and taste your dressing, it's sickly sweet (and appropriately served in an IHOP-style syrup dispenser). Needless to say, I'm not going back. And even if I wanted to, there's no way my wife is ever setting foot in there again. She has been retelling the story of our awful experience ever since that day and Delia's has been something of a punchline all...

Called on Tuesday to place a catered order for a 12:00 p.m. client meeting on Thursday in Springfield, VA. I gave all the necessary information to get the order started; however, I never received an email confirmation within a few hours as promised.
Called the following day to confirm the order was still on schedule for delivery; delivery date was confirmed; still no email confirmation. Called the morning of the meeting date (Thursday) to confirm again. I was told the order was on schedule to be delivered to the Springfield location.
My colleague who was at the meeting in Springfield informed me that the order hadn't arrived by the scheduled delivery time. Someone at the restaurant call her (at 11:45) to tell her that they were waiting for someone to call them back with the billing address. Frustrated, she gave them her credit card/billing information. They told her that the delivery person was on his way and would be at the location in 15 minutes. Still no catered order!
I contacted the restaurant to confirm the delivery address they had on file and they gave me the address to my office in MCLEAN, VA!!!!! I told them that was incorrect and that I did not give them that information when I placed the order initially! The person I was conversing with over the phone informed the driver and gave him the correct delivery address. It was 12:35 p.m., at this point and the driver was exiting in the Tysons Corner area!!!
