Denny's — Restaurant in Virginia

This was the 2nd time my husband and I had ever eaten at this location. The first time was good, I can't complain about the food or service at that visit. This time, however, we went on Friday, November 10, at about 7pm. The dining room was not busy at the time, and there were 2 waitresses that I saw. We got the waitress who will tell you that she's been there for 12 years, Karen. First, she walked up and cut into a conversation we were having about something on the menu and she got a bit argumentative with him, which caught me off guard. Then I tried to give her my order and she kept repeating it back wrong. It wasn't difficult: scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, hash browns. She rolled her eyes and huffed at me when I corrected her. She brought me coffee but took quite a while to bring my husband's water. Then she brought out the plates and said, "there, you wanted real eggs and I had them make them." I don't have any idea what she meant by that. We had ordered scrambled eggs and ended up with fried eggs which were then cut up. They were disgusting, not the quality I had always seen from Denny's. When she asked how it was and my husband said "um, ok?" she said, "Just okay? No, I know it's good." He was trying to be polite but no, it was not good. The worst thing was when I had emptied the coffee cup enough to see the bottom and found 2 used artificial sweetener packets (which I don't even use) which tells me it came out of the dishwasher like that. I got up and walked to the door. My husband walked over to her and quietly told her about it and she shrugged and said "sorry," and walked away. The other waitress was cashing us out and we said we were not paying for the coffee and he told her what happened. She said "we tell the bussers not to put trash in the cups because it doesn't come out." That was all. I didn't see a single busser working at the time. The person who filled a dirty coffee cup and brought it to me was the rude waitress who messed up our orders (Karen), not a busser. It would have taken a fraction of a second to look in the cup and see that it was dirty. Between the service being so horrible, the dirty cup I drank out of, and the indifference of the staff, we won't ever visit this particular...

Do not know where to begin. The Wife and I were headed home from a trip and stopped in just after midnight. There were approximately 3 other groups there. The waitress eventually greeted us after several minutes and initially sat us at a table where the floor was severely sticky and it was located right next to a loud, obnoxious and vulgar group of young adults. We finally asked the waitress if we could move up to the counter due to the previously mentioned issues. Next it took the waitress close to 15 minutes for us to order 2 coffees. Why she did not take our order at that time we still do not understand. From what we observed, she was mostly just standing around the wait station. After an additional 10 minutes she took our order and filled our coffees, which had been dry for quit some time, and this was also the last time she ever filled our cups. After another 23 minutes the food arrived but only half of my food order showed up. The normal protocol for waitresses would of been to fill your coffee when the food arrives but that did not occur. After I had finished my half order the waitress came by and asked if I wanted to reorder what I had not received. After the experience we had just weathered I declined her offer and asked if she could reduce our bill due to the error. She left and discussed with someone in the back and then came back out and removed a whopping $2.07 off of our bill. She then also had the gall to ask us if we would like to add a tip onto the bill. Do not know what is going on at this restaurant but based on the other previous reviews this has been going on for quit a long time. Please do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this...

Very sure me & my family were waited on by a racist woman named Tammy, to the point that my child in elementary school said " I think she hates us". We weren't needy & still very polite to her plus I've worked as a server for over 10 years I even worked for the manager who was in the building. She oddly made faces as we were ordering our food like what we were ordering bothered her. The only thing that I could think of was the fact that the servers at Denny's have to make the salads & me and my daughter had ordered two, on top of that when we were trying to order our appetizers she kept walking away from the table not even giving us a chance to speak. Anyways we let that slide! Then I see her pick something off of the glass and immediately dive the whole cup into the Ice. Smh. When it was time for the salads she didn't use gloves. At that point I was done. Me and my family still being very polite to her & she has the nerve to treat us poorly. To top everything off a very nice "white man" came to sit in her section & I decided to watch b/c at this point I'm curious as to what the problem is & this lady Tammy had the best attitude with him it was almost hurtful. LSS racism still exists. When my husband went to pay what would have easily been a $20 tip on a $80 tab was taken down to $10 and she looked like she was shocked. DO...
