Visited this place today, and I will tell you buyer beware. First of all, the food was watered down. Briyani rice is supposed to be a dry rice, and this one was wet. Everything on the buffet looked like it had been sitting there for a while, but against better judgment. I decided to try it anyway. The friend I was with had a bone in his food that looked like it had been chewed on, the butter chicken had a burnt taste and the mango lassi was too loose like it had been watered down to stretch it. The kicker was I found plastic in my food, and when I brought it to in the man's attention. He tried to tell me it wasn't plastic! He picked the plasic out of the bowl and opened it up, and immediately his argument stopped because he realized himself it was plastic. He offered to fix me more food, and I told him no, I wanted my money back, because I had already eaten some of it, and at this time I was disgusted and his dispute was that I had already eaten. I told him to give me my money back or i'm calling the police so he obliged. The person I was with had also eaten the rice and wanted their money back, but being that day wasn't the one that found the plastic in their food, he refused to give the money back. Also, the mango lassi was watered down along with the food. I have been eating indian food for over ten years, and I know what is supposed to look and taste like, and this was not it.
Also, I did not get any pictures because when he realized it was plastic in the food. He hurried up into the bowl from me before I could get any pictures. The piece of plastic looks like what comes off of a yogurt or a sour cream cup. The white film that covers it before...
Read moreTitle: Varied Experience at Kebab House
Review: Having visited Kebab House twice, my experience has been a mix of highs and lows. The overall atmosphere leaves something to be desired, lacking the vibrancy one might expect in a dining setting. On the positive side, the butter chicken stands out as a delicious choice, providing a satisfying blend of flavors. The curry goat, while decent, doesn't quite reach the same level. However, the redeeming factor lies in their pretty decent mango pudding, a delightful treat that makes a return visit tempting. Despite the tasty dishes, the limited options for hot food and the underwhelming ambiance might leave some wanting more. In summary, Kebab House offers a varied experience - good food with room for improvement, making it a place worth considering for certain cravings, especially if you have a sweet tooth. I would rate it 6.5 out of 10, with both positives and areas for...
Read moreHad spicy chicken kebab biryani for take out. Menu does mention it's a family pack. Had to hold it with two hands so the parcel won't spill. Lots of biryani and chicken too - wife and I ate half for lunch. Had to save the rest for another time. Tasted good and real spicy when hot, basmati rice too. Not sure if it was chicken kabob or regular boneless. For the price $17+taxes, definitely the best value locally. Just last week we had a family pack for $20 from the Innsbrook one and the quantity was half. When you are hungry, this cannot be beat. Didn't try the buffet, another value at the Bata price $9.99 weekdays. I had called to place the order. When the owner said 20-25 minutes, I told him we will be there in 5 minutes. He quipped - do you want it cooked or uncooked? I could see the chef making or heating the biryani in a cooker when I went 15 minutes later. Very...
