This restaurant is absolutely excellent. I ate here twice, the first time I had catfish and crawfish platter. I've never had such flavorful and deeply delicious catfish in my life. The breading is superb, whatever mix of spices they use in it is so good that I've had dreams about it. The etoufee was spicy but the spice did not drown out the other flavors (an all too common problem with spicy dishes), rather the dish played a symphony of flavors on my tongue. The second time I visited I had the gator po' boy. This was my first time trying gator and they knocked it out of the park. The fried pieces of gator were excellent, the breading was a work of art once more. The sauce I was given with my po' boy, some sort of spicy mayo, went nicely on my sandwich and my fries. The fries deserve mention too, they were fluffy on the inside, crisp on the outside. Notably these fries were seasoned fries, something I usually don't enjoy but whatever wizard is in charge of the seasonings here is most certainly doing a spectacular job because they made me like seasoned fries. Overall this place is excellent and I recommend it to anyone with the capacity to taste. The one negative comment I have to make is that the bread used for the po' boy could be improved but that's...
Read moreIf you're looking for authentic, mouthwatering Louisiana seafood restaurant, Keland Louisiana Seafood is the place to be! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and laughter by the owner, who instantly made the entire experience feel like a visit to a good friend's house. Not only is he hilarious—cracking jokes and keeping the vibe lively—but he's also genuinely passionate about what he does, and it shows in every bite.
Now let’s talk about the food. WOW. Everything was perfectly seasoned bold, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can tell they don’t hold back when it comes to spices and authenticity. The seasoning is exactly what you'd expect from true Louisiana cuisine: rich, layered, and absolutely addictive. The seafood was fresh, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Whether it's the shrimp, crab balls, or the amazing fried fish each dish, each dish was a knockout.
It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience. Between the amazing food and the welcoming, funny-as-heck owner, Keland Louisiana Seafood feels like home—with way better cooking!
Highly recommend. Bring your appetite and your sense of humor you’re in...
Read moreBased on the number of outstanding reviews, we gave Keland a try. First off, we were overwhelmed by the smell of burned, overused cooking oil. . My Shrimp Po Boy was nothing more than a good portion of bland shrimp sitting in a soft roll on a small bed of chopped lettuce and tomato. Nothing else, not a drop of remoulade or any kind of sauce. Like no Po Boy I've ever eaten. Not good but at least edible. My wife's jambalaya was worse. Plenty of meat, a little overcooked rice, and so much salt, the food was inedible. It's sitting on the counter here at home while I try to figure out something I can do to incorporate it in a dish of my own making. I hate throwing food way away, but this must have been the result of an accident in the kitchen. No cook at any level would purposely add so much salt.
If our experience is typical, I would advise staying far away from Keland. But then I would have to wonder how so many locals can be so easily pleased by poor quality food. Something just isn't right here but we won't return to find out. I do wish them well as I like to see small...
