This place is cute, and has lots of games and activities. Unfortunately it was raining and cold so we weren't able to play any. So we just ate. The waitress was friendly, took our order, repeated our order back to us and everything was correct. The food came out in an acceptable amount of time. This is where things went downhill. I ordered a pomegranate limeade. It was literally soda water, a splash of grenadine and a lime wedge. Pretty disappointing. Then they gave my son BBQ wings, not buffalo. No biggie, I just asked nicely for the correct wings. They simply covered the BBQ wings in buffalo sauce. They were really horrible. That is NOT an acceptable solution. But then the waitress disappeared. She never came back during the meal. No drink refills, no check-in etc. We needed napkins, drinks and I would have appreciated the correct order for my son. It wasn't busy, there was one other person in there at the same time.
My daughter (11) ordered the kids quesadilla (kids eat free on Tuesdays). She was very clear that she wanted the kids quesadilla. The quesadilla was very good looking, and I was impressed at how it looked for a kids meal. It was 4 slices of quesadilla and a very small basket of fries (appropriate for a kids meal, extremely small for an adult order). Well when the check came I saw it still listed. I reminded the waitress that hers should be free. She said no, she had the quesadilla appetizer not the kids quesadilla. I reminded the waitress we had ordered the kids quesadilla and she said there was nothing she could do about it. Bacon cheese fries were disappointing. Small portion in my opinion and the cheese was kind of flavorless. Chili was fine, sweet potato fries were good, chicken tenders were good, crab dip was fine (though few pieces of crostini). In the end the bill was $106, before tip. I don't mind mistakes, but the way they handled each one was unacceptable. Go there expecting a good time, not good food or...
Read moreMy ex-wife and I went to Corner Pocket Saturday evening about 6:30ish. We were excited to find an unpretentious billiards room with a large menu and full service restaurant. We were given a rack of balls (by Adrienne), and told to pick any table and Hope would be right with us... In hind sight... maybe she said we should hope someone would be right with us! We waited... started our second game, no one even acknowledged us. Finally my ex went to the bar and got us drinks... this took nearly ten minutes... ten minutes of our time on the table which we were paying for by the hour. We finished these drinks... still... no hope. A few minutes we t by and Hope asked the people at the table next to us if they would like to order... I commented to them "at least she asked you"... which apparently was terrible of me to say. Hope heard and came to me in a combative/defensive manner. I was not apologized to... In fact I was given excuses as to why we were not recognized. At no point did either of us raise our voice, or use any profanity. I went to the bar and got another drink, and I spoke to Adrienne... again... somehow I was at fault for expecting service. Complaining about not being served is apparently a good enough reason to be asked to leave and threatened to have the police called... to which I responded, "call them!" This was a great place... People were having fun, hell, we were having fun... I just did not want to spend my pool time going back and forth to the bar. I saw appetizing dishes coming from the kitchen, and would have liked to order some, alas it was not to be. I will not be back... LOL... I was banned... BANNED at 55. A the hell I raised as a youngin' I was never banned from anywhere. HOWEVER... I would go back if permitted and if you have read this far and were thinking of going... You should, you'll have fun... Just DO NOT COMPLIAN ABOUT...
Read moreI took my wife and son to the Corner Pocket yesterday for what was supposed to be a nice family dinner. However, I was met with raw seafood, excessively long wait time and an rude and aggressive manager, Adriene Adkins.
My son and I ordered the dinner special, salmon pasta, which took approximately 30 minutes to arrive. The salmon was frozen inside and the pasta and broccoli were undercooked. Obviously, it was returned and we ordered sandwiches (decreasing our changes of salmonella or vibrio vulnificus). After another 25- 30 minutes we finally got our sandwiches.
My friend swears by this restaurant and so I assumed maybe this was an off day, maybe the kitchen is short staffed, or I dont know. However my discontent was not acknowledged nor a concern for the management. I was not offered an apology, explanation, free appetizer while we wait for our food AGAIN. I got nothing so I asked for the manager.
I asked that payment not be processed until I was able to speak to a manager. When the manager arrived at the table, her negative demeanor was clearly present. She placed the receipt on the table. Adriene, the manager CHARGED MY CARD WITHOUT MY PERMISSION before even conversing or introducing herself. More importantly prior to even trying to resolve the matter. She had no intention of every listening me. She simply didnt care.
After interrupting and talking over me, she stated that the $5 discount was all she would do to compensate us for the convenience and if I dont like it, I can call the owner, Lynn.
A friend referred us to the restaurant and I dont know how we had opposite occurances, but I will never go back again.
Our server was great, but food, management, the overall experience was dissatisfying and offensive. The only place I'm referring them to is the better...
