Very, very disappointed. We loved Ghin Na Ree! They were a family owned, very authentic Thai restaurant, and were so friendly. I say authentic because my father in law was a diplomat in Thailand. We took him to Ghin Na Ree and he was very impressed! The owners were very friendly and always welcomed us. We watched their daughters grow up and have families if their own. Likewise they watched our daughters grow up and have their own children. The food was always plentiful and very, very fresh. We were excited to try this new Thai restaurant and waited to make sure that they had worked the kinks out. When we were seated the server came to our table and very bruskly asked “are you ready?”. We had barely looked at the menu. I ordered my all time favorite Drunken Noodles. It was way too spicy and the chicken was terribly over cooked - tasted like leather. It was also not very warm, while the noodles were very hot which indicated the chicken was cooked in advance and added to the dish once the noodles were almost ready, hence the difference in temperature from the noodles. I was also thrown off by the presence of green beans and cherry tomatoes. I have ordered this dish at many Thai restaurants and it’s normally served with peppers - green, red and yellow, and basil. I have never had it served with green beans and cherry tomatoes. My husband ordered the crispy pork belly with Bok Choi. About 40% of the pork belly was inedible - cooked so much that you couldn’t bite into it without cracking a tooth. The bok choi was almost entirely the light green/white stalks with very few of the dark green leaves which, according to my husband is the best part of Bok Choi. Needless to say we will never return and if you were a fan of Ghin Na Ree you will probably be just as disappointed with not only the quality of the food but also the rude,...
Read moreI had dinner with my parents here recently and really enjoyed the experience and the food. It has a laid back, quiet atmosphere and the server was attentive and helpful, making suggestions for my father who was looking for non-spicy options. I liked that the menu had a good amount of variety without being too large. We ended ordering the veggie rolls, papaya salad, fried rice, pad see ew with tofu, and chicken with roasted peanut sauce. Everything was delicious. The veggie rolls were crispy and flavorful, and I really liked the sauce that came with them, it tasted a bit more complex than I usually get at a thai restaurant. I also thought the vegetables in the fried rice and pad see ew were cooked especially well; fresh and crisp. Also, the bill was extremely reasonable for the quality and amount of food we got! It's probably worth noting that they didn't serve alcohol, but maybe they will add that in the future. I look forward...
Read moreThis is a wonderful Thai Restaurant with a cozy feel and great food! I came for dinner on a Tuesday, and there was plenty of seating available.
I ordered the Three Flavored Chicken, which was breaded and fried bite size chicken pieces in a sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce! It's listed as the most popular entree item on the menu, and I can see why! It's delicious, and it's not a dish that is common at other Thai Restaurants! I noticed their menu also had some other items that I only see in some authentic Thai restaurants, like sun-dried beef. I didn't get it this time, but will definitely be coming back to try it! I also tried the Pad Gra Pow with Shrimp and Mango Sticky rice for dessert, both of which were delicious!
The owners were also lovely! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for good, authentic Thai Food in Arlington! And I highly recommend the Three...
