Matt's Smackin Macs — Restaurant in Virginia

We finally decided to try MSM after reading such great reviews it had been on our radar for a minute. I ordered the BBQ Chicken & DH the Buffalo Chicken. First, let's talk about the serving size. I read other reviews and looked at posted pics to understand what the single serving looked like compared to the double. The single serving for both was $12, and the double was $24. Now, for those of us who cook. $12 for a single serving of Mac & cheese with 4 oz of chicken is a bit pricey, but I thought maybe I could get two servings from the small since I enjoy leftovers, and I couldn't see paying $48 for Mac & Cheese with grilled chicken, or if I did, it would at least be like an 11×7 pan. this to say it's a bit pricey for shell pasta, milk, cheese & grilled chicken breast with sauce drizzled on top. I took pics & placed my Firestick remote between both dishes so that you can better understand the single serving size (it was smaller than I thought.) On to the taste of the dish....The chicken was grilled and seasoned nicely. I was hoping the Mac & cheese would be more baked. It would be a nice touch to broil it for a couple of minutes before serving. Everyone loves a crusty Mac & cheese. I had to add black pepper & some creole seasoning because it was under-seasoned for my liking. DH loved his & didn't add a thing. I like the premise because everyone loves a good Mac & Cheese. The verdict is still out on whether this would be one of my go-to's, but DH enjoyed it, so I would definitely patronage again...

I came here on a whim with my god daughter. It's not in the greatest location and it's kind of run-down looking. Inside isn't any better. BUT, ohmigawd the food!!!

I had the pesto mac and cheese with bacon (!), my god daughter had chicken bacon parmesan mac and cheese, and we took home regular mac and cheese for my son. Everything was freshly and perfectly prepared and served piping hot. The portions were large too. The marriage of flavors was unique, inspired, creative, and absolutely fantastic! In fact, the food was so good, on our drive home, we didn't even talk like we normally do. We were both caught in silent rapture of delicious food!

It's walk-up service but the young man behind the counter was friendly, gave honest recommendations, and took good care of us and the steady stream of customers. I was stunned at how busy they were...until I tried the food and then it was obvious why they're so busy. Even the location and ambiance don't keep people away.

The only reason I didn't give five stars is because of the location and how run-down the place is. But, we are already planning a return. I hope they are HUGELY successful and can expand. I'd love to see this become a chain. It's certainly good enough. We will definitely be...

4.8⭐️ I’m not sure what to say Matt… Your Macs was SMACKIN bruh!!! First timer here, and I didn’t know what to do. So I stood and waited off to the side for them to finish cooking so I could place my order. But Spider-Man was on the tv… so I might’ve completely zoned into that for a bit 🤣 so when the young lady asked what the name on my order was, I just said I was waiting to order. She was like “Oh I’m so sorry!” Not her fault at all, like I said, I was too into the tv. I got the hubbs a regular BBQ chicken, and I got a regular Chicken Bacon Parm. I’m gonna be real guys, I’m not even a Mac n cheese lover. I like it, but it’s not a #1 pick for me. My husband it the Mac n cheese connoisseur. OH MY GOD I don’t know what I’d add to that to make it better. We tried each others food, and THEY WERE BOTH AMAZING! The regular is big enough to share, idk who could finish a double. The prices are definitely fair. Thankfully I don’t live far, but I would drive to try this. Highly recommend. I wish the owner was there so I could’ve gotten a pic of them. But you’re doing a great job Matt! Can’t wait to try...
