One star. We had a deeply distressing experience at the McDonald’s located at 14362 Gideon Dr, Woodbridge, VA 22193. The manager on duty, Mirna Gonsales, handled a simple customer interaction in an extremely inappropriate and alarming manner.
The situation began when we politely requested a water cup for my son, who is on the autism spectrum. Rather than responding calmly or professionally, Ms. Gonsales suddenly raised her voice at us in an aggressive and confrontational tone. Her facial expression and body language were intense and intimidating, and the overall energy of the interaction was hostile and upsetting.
This caused my son to become severely distressed. He experienced an acute emotional reaction that led to him vomiting in the restaurant. It was a heartbreaking and overwhelming moment for our family.
When we attempted to ask for her name and an explanation for her behavior, Ms. Gonsales refused to respond. She offered no apology, no assistance, and no acknowledgment of the incident or the impact it had on us.
We are requesting a formal apology from Ms. Gonsales and respectfully urge McDonald’s corporate to review this incident. We believe this level of conduct—especially from a manager—should be addressed appropriately. Every customer deserves to be treated with basic respect and understanding, particularly families with children who have special needs.
We hope McDonald’s will take this matter seriously and ensure that future interactions reflect the company’s values of inclusion, dignity, and...
Read moreThis has got to be one of the worst McDonald's in the Woodbridge area. I don't expect much from McDonald's or fast food in general. Hopefully edible food, decent or professional service, a correct order, and somewhat 'fast' for fast food. This McDonald's misses the mark on all the above.
Lately, nothing but bad and frustrating experiences. This last experience, the drive-thru was extremely slow, the worker could not understand what I was ordering. I ended up having to pull forward to order and I still had to repeat the order several times as the worker didn't understand or know how to input the items. Got to the pickup window to receive the order and was handed a small and medium drink, despite only ordering for the kid's meals. Pulled forward to check our order realized we were missing a 4 piece chicken nuggets. Went inside, no one acknowledge me even though several workers saw I was waiting at the register. Finally received the item only to get home to find out that they still got our order wrong.
This has become regular at this McDonald's. Between wait times, unsatisfactory service, missing items from orders, and poor quality. Workers appear to care less as we've had to address issues several times with staff. Is there even management at this location?? I've reached out to corporate as no one at the restaurant appears to take customer input seriously. There's 5 other McDonald's within about a mile of this location, choose another location or something else...
Read moreOur visit to this location on April 20, 2025, around 1:30-2:00 PM was deeply upsetting and unacceptable. As a family visiting from Alexandria specifically for the playplace, we placed several orders, including Happy Meals for our children. When my husband requested water cups for our family of four, the manager on duty, Mirna Gonsales, refused to provide more than one.
When we politely asked for additional cups, she began aggressively yelling at both my husband and me in front of our young children. The situation escalated so badly that my autistic son, overwhelmed by the combative environment, vomited on himself and the floor. I repeatedly asked for the manager’s full name and an explanation of the water policy, both of which she refused to provide.
During this disturbing encounter, another customer (of Filipino descent) shared his own experience of being mistreated at this location and expressed that this manager has a pattern of disrespect toward Asian customers.
I have video evidence of the manager’s behavior and her refusal to answer reasonable questions, along with photo evidence of my child’s physical distress caused by this incident.
No family — especially one with young children and a disabled child — should be treated this way at any public...
