I need to be accurate
I would like to talk about how inconvenient the process of receiving all the necessary items is. Planning up was an outstanding service by your associates. As sellers, everything and everyone were more than kind and efficient.
However...
By the time we placed the order, we never thought how disorganized and totally inadequate IKEA service is. We can't even accept the idea of having items delivered more than one month later, and still, there are a lot of things that haven't been stocked so that we can start with the labours at home. Out of any normal project! Insane, I would say... considering the fact that we need to schedule contractors and in need to reschedule them, not to mention how uncomfortable it is to stack all of these buIky items in our living room (I am sorry! ... not all customers have a basement or plenty of space for this purpose!)
If that was something we had been warned about before placing the order, we would have considered it. And, from what I know,
That is a little piece of ethics at selling.
Good brands think of that and respect costumers, based on their needs. A subject in which IKEA are just failing. I believe: If the situation is that IKEA does not have all of the items for a project available...
Allow the costumers to know it in advance, (to make a reasonable decision) or
Consider possible solutions to the problem, like packaging and storing everything until is completely and then (just then) deliver the order.
Simply: Please show that you do care about us. Tell the truth! A good citizen not only will understand it, but also appreciate that!
The answer of one of the associates when I expressed this inadequate, unacceptable procedure was: "that would be ideal, but there is Nothing we can do". Like... "Your problem now, not ours!" ... or " Now that you placed your order and paid for that, meet the reality and face it!".
Completely disappointing and unsatisfactory. This is the moment when we are still waiting for a few items that block us from starting labours (the first that must be installed). Letting time go.
To add...
I emailed IKEA telling this as feedback for service: No Answer!
I visited Customer Service to let them know about this situation and (having said that one assistant did her best by recognizing a refund for $20- while the project surpasses the $3,000!) told me there was nothing to do, rather than waiting for the last cabinets to be in stock. So 3 days later I received this email expressing that under the circumstances and understanding the urgent need of getting the cabinets, it would be possible to go and purchase them directly in an IKEA store driving more than 80 miles. Supposedly, the cabinets were in stock there. I was looking for a way to reserve them.... but IKEA is not doing that (and indeed the website did not allow me!), so it was a matter of just going there and picking them up.
But, guess what... 3 hours and half a tank of gas.... for nothing! Once we got there, they told us the cabinets were not available! Even letting them see the email I received, the answer once again: "I'm sorry." I believe this is a serious lack of respect of time, just because procedures and communications are not designed effectively and with the rigor that a brand like this deserves.
No solutions. Just problems, inconveniences, delays, and useless excuses.
IKEA seriously needs to check their policies at taking care of customers. I currently feel like everything IKEA has done is discouraging me from being their customer. Not to say how poorly willing I feel to recommend them to anybody.
Rethink your service, IKEA. There is an important amount of people not happy to make the decision of...
Read moreWelcome to the show I'm the host. You're here for the best truth, I'm going to prove it to you. This goes to everyone who's reading this. IKEA is a furniture market in Poromac Mills circle. It's not a food market actually. Not even a electronic place where technology arrives with entertainment. Oh really? Yes. It's a convenient store for home living. For real? Yes, it is. Are you sure about this ? Positive. It's the place where shoppers can get their items for their house, appartments, and townhouse. Really? Yeah. They got many of those products to ship and deliver. They can usually ship furnitures from start to finish. Simple as 1, 2, 3. That's it. Do they deliver them to my home ? Yes, they do. Can they ship our furnitures to our house ? Of course they can. There's no problem with this option anyway. When they first buy them, customers can have them but they don't have to do the shipping by themselves, they'll do the shipping and delivery for them. They can also place their best indoor items in their houses. Is that right ? Yes. Are the parking lots free? Yes they are. Located on the right side of it. But in front, there's a disability parking where the logos are. However, they can't park there. [Notice] It's only for people with disabilities, permits, liscence, and grandparents. (Storyline) when I was there, I thought it's a food store, but I figured it's a furniture place. They have a service where kids are, escalator, floor levels, nice staffs, and pick up food. It's quite similar to (Sam's club) but different. I was looking for my friend to meet up with then got to speak to two guy that work there. They're IKEA associates. We chat for 3 minutes and it was cool. Do associates help people with assistance? Yes, they always do. Is it 24 hours service ? No, it's not. Is there any pick up foods ? Yeah, they usually have them there. It's located at where the cashier points are. It's on the left side of it. The place is nice and convenient for many folks. This guide will help. Prove this and you'll be in a confidence and decent life. Until next time, everyone. Take care.
Oh, yeah. Here's a [special features] to this page. I have a friend name sajan.we meet again for friendship. I was invited to the upper floor where they have cafeteria. I find out they serve food. However, I didn't notice until he showed me as an introduction. Their food is incredible. It's like European/American food. Oh really? yeah. It's great up there. Plus the snacks and drinks are very good. They came from Sweden. I was amazed they have them and I can't wait to come there again. (Notice) if you or everyone else try to have more food or plans to have different options, they can allow that but they're going to ask you to pay for it. Sometimes the can be separate. The cafeteria is located at the top floor. Upstairs, where the escalator is and the...
Read moreREAD THIS BEFORE BUYING SOMETHING THAT HAS TO BE ASSEMBLED. Worst experience ever. I bought a bed that I had to assemble. The parts were the wrong size and it was the ones at the very end so I had already assembled most of the bed. I had to cut boards and drill new holes. Thankfully I own a table saw but I bet most people do not. The whole thing is so cheaply made and unsafe that I put 2x10 boards over the top which is what they should have done in the first place. I will never buy anything from them again. Their products are cheap, badly designed and unsafe. They said it would take 2 to 3 hours to put together and the whole project ended up being 14 hours (which includes a home depot trip), plus I had a professional doing the assembly who was doing good work. A very, very bad experience. Posting pictures so there is proof. I should take the whole experience to small claims court. I wouldn't buy anything that has to be assembled from them. There is a 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch board with a mere four screws into weak particle board on each side supporting the entire weight of two people which is clearly unsafe (yes, I am an engineer). Very badly designed so I just went to Home Depot and put 2x10s over the entire top so it was safe. You can see from the pictures the cuts I had to made. I also had to drill a couple of new holes. They had put slats in that were the wrong lengths and two of the top boards had to be cut and ...yes... they were the right boards because at least all the holes lined up. How did this get through quality control? I heard their furniture was cheap and that was certainly my experience. What a mess. Thanks to the negative responses on my post in Reddit I made a special point to post my pictures. I suspect that there are people being paid to disparage people like me when I post about a bad experience at Ikea. The responses were amazingly quick like someone was waiting and watching. Well, look at...
