Pupuseria Dona Azucena — Restaurant in Woodbridge

Currently sitting at the restaurant and it has been 10 min before the server came to me. After ordering took us another 15 min to get our food and on top of that she didn’t bring all our orders and when I asked about the rest of our orders she replied saying “oh you didn’t order that” so we clarified it and then she brought us 1 min later our missing orders but when received it was cold or not even close to Luke warm. The service here so far has been terrible and our server still hasn’t even brought my coffee. Both times I have asked where my order is she has had an excuse saying we didn’t order. This isn’t the first time we have experienced bad service but today it definitely was our worst experience with this location. Third time going there and food has been delicious and fresh. At least the pupusas I ate last time and the fish I ate recently. I’m not sure about the soups, unfortunately the second time we went, the soup was not that great. I’ll give it a try on a weekend where I see they are busier and hopefully the soup is cooked the same day. I don’t like the fact that some small local restaurants sometimes (many times) serve food that is not freshly cooked the same day. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I don’t like eating with plastic silverware and the small plate they gave me for my food. I had to ask for an additional empty container for my fish. Was there last evening and had by far the worst experience at this place. I ordered the chicken enchiladas. After a couple of bites I smelled something rotten and it turned out to the hardboiled egg they use to garnish the dish. The egg was bad! I was heaving from the smell. It was a putrid smell, just awful. How could their kitchen staff not notice the smell? I informed out waitress and while she was very apologetic about the whole thing. Nothing was done.
