In a town with some amazing dessert options, this is one of my favorite places for a sweet treat. The owner is something of a flavor genius, and can knock the traditional gelato flavors out of the park, but I really love her creativity with the "weird" flavors. She puts together flavor combinations that I would never come up with in a million years, and they usually just HIT. I love hole she incorporates local and seasonal ingredients - sometimes foraged! Challenge yourself to try something new, or let yourself be embraced by a comforting favorite.
Oh, and do yourself a favor and try an affogato (gelato with a shot of espresso poured over it) or chocogato (the same, but with hot chocolate poured over). 🤤
Super cute shop with funky, mildly eccentric decor, and I interesting, thoughtful, good people running the place. One of the best things...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem! The flavor selection was a little less that what other reviewers said it was (there were maybe 15-20 flavors; not 36+), but I don’t know what I would have done if there were more!
We went ahead and did the Splendora Sampler (6 single scoops on a custom dish) for around $8. The flavors we tried were the Cranberry-Orange Sorbet, Chocolate Gelato, Mint Chocolate Gelato, Cookies and Cream Gelato, Honey and Cheese Gelato and Basil Ricotta Gelato.
The Basil was all of the adults’ favorite, and the kids liked the chocolate and the mint chocolate chip. The gelato in general was very light and creamy, and all the flavors tasted exactly as they were named; nothing tasted artificial or syrupy.
All in all, I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone looking for a light dessert after lunch, or as a snack on a hot day....
Read moreWe LOVE Splendora's! We try to support this local, woman-owned business once a week. On the weeks we aren't there, we've got a pint in the freezer. PK makes delicious flavors inspired by her Filipina heritage and classic flavors too! Some of our favorite flavors are lychee, hazelnut, matcha, Thai tea, stracciatella, chocolate hazelnut, fig/goat cheese, cardamom, and so many more. I just tried their hot chocolate which she painstakingly made from scratch, and it was SO good - light, airy, chocolatey, and not too sweet at all. Her king cake is also really really good - the best in town by far! Definitely recommend stopping by this sweet shop run by a sweet, creative, and...
