Banh mi doesn’t taste good at all. It lacks 2 ingredients that give it that particular banh mi taste. The Vietnamese mayo and the pickled veggies. Ordered 2 banh mi and some egg rolls. Egg rolls weren’t fresh; tasted and looked like it was cooked during the morning, and allowed it to sit in a heating pan to absorb condensation. Banh mi lacks flavor of any kind besides salt. Their pork meatloaf weren’t cut evenly so there were huge chunks and butt ends slap together without care. Their sandwiches included regular mayo and onions, not commonly found in banh mi and more like a substitute and throws the whole flavor profile off completely. Since they used onions, there were no pickled carrots (be wary, especially for those like myself who do not like onions because of its pungent flavor). It’s basically a pho restaurant with a side of banh mi, not the other way around. Misleading restaurant name. With a name like that, I expect the restaurant to offer better tasting banh mi without...

Banh Mi Amour is serving up the best banh mi I’ve had in Visalia — full stop.
I tried the Amour Special, and while it’s clearly well-made and high quality, it just wasn’t for me — not a fan of pork pâté or whatever else is layered in there. That said, if you’re into that style, I can see the appeal.
But let’s talk about the stuff that really shines: • The spring rolls? To die for. Generous portion, super fresh, and even kid-approved — my little one loved them. • And the charbroiled shrimp? Absolute star of the show. Whether it’s on vermicelli, in a banh mi, or wherever else they sneak it in, it’s packed with flavor and grilled to perfection.
Pro tip: add the Fresno peppers to your sandwich. They’ll sneak up on you with a kick, but if you’re into spice, it’s a game-changer.
If you’re anywhere near Visalia, Banh Mi Amour is 100% worth the stop. Fresh, flavorful, and a welcome addition to the...
Read moreOrdered the chicken rice plate and waited 20 minutes only to be told, “btw, we can’t make it. Can we get you something else?” And when the food was served, we barely had enough room to eat bc the empty, dishes were accumulating and staff didn’t offer to clear the table. The charbroiled chicken was so dry, no flavor, the rice tasted old and over cooked. Also, I asked for a knife and fork and was given a spoon and fork instead. The place was near closing so we couldn’t help but wonder if they just wanted to rush us out the door. It’s so disappointing because we initially loved the food that we came back two days in a row. The abysmal dine in experience was so bad we won’t be coming back. I feel bad too bc no one checked up on us to see if we were ok or help clear the table while staff was just standing around talking and I paid for a tip upfront only to get horrible...
