We come to this Super 8 in Visalia whenever we can. However, this íproperty was just recently purchased by a new investment group. I was wondering if or by how much it would change?
This property is conveniently located close to fast food & grocery with easy access to the 198 that runs through town. The rooms are bigger than comparable properties and while there are some things that need to be upgraded in the rooms, I was pleased to see they have been remodeling rooms, a few at a time! The new rooms are going to be completely redone, with updated floor plans, fixtures, paint, right down to coordinated bedspreads!
But the main reason we continue to stay with Super 8 is the people. When they changed ownership, I was wondering how that would change. If anything, it got better! For example, prior to the change, when making my reservation online, Wyndham has a text area for comments and special requests. This was the first time that not only was my request noticed, (I had asked for an extra pillow), but it was already accommodated & on the bed before I checked in!
The manager at the desk who also does the reservations is Aadi, (it sounds like Audi), and Aadi will literally bend over backwards to make your stay the best it can be. He is a legal immigrant who is so proud to be here and loves this country, which is obvious by the way he tries so hard to accommodate the guests.
During my recent stay, I had an accident the night before I was checking out. I had lost my footing and banged myself up pretty good. Not only did he tell me to take my time packing up, but showed up at my door with some breakfast items to make sure!
I was concerned that the new owners would not continue to have the personal attention I had been used to with the Super 8, but not any longer. I was very pleasantly surprised. Not only are they updating the rooms, but they still go out of their way for their guests. They make you feel like they're glad you are here and hope you...
Read moreI was in town from Reno, NV on a training and this place was probably one of the more 🙂homier check-ins and check-outs that I've had even better than the experiences I've had at the Hilton or Hampton inn suites.
The one odd thing is that this location just like the Travelodge in Lemoore, CA will make you check in on the side window. So you park your car, you walk to the side window 🪟 and speak with the employee from the outside.
My room didn't smell like most other hotels do with that funky old smell, but the microwave was dirty (it had dried up pieces of bread, and red chilli stains), and the refrigerator was turned off, I spent time turning the fridge back in and cleaning the microwave, so I'm not sure if management and cleaning services don't pay attention to those two appliances between clients, or if the business as a whole doesn't have much bookings. This is odd, because it seems like this business is the spot for👷♂️ weekday boarding for construction workers( on the day of check in there was a line of utility and roadside construction employees and through the nights you could see them in groups getting into their rooms with their uniforms).
Unfortunately my neighbors from upstairs was a family with kids and they were either chasing each other around the room, or stomping on the floor after throwing a tantrum, so it did get quite noisy. The beds are also pretty squeeky.
Otherwise, they do serve a complimentary breakfast from 6:00am to 9:00am. Again this is weird 🤔because they let you enter the lobby for breakfast, but you can't enter the lobby to...
Read moreI've stayed here a hundred times and overall, until last night, never had anything to complain about. I booked online and requested downstairs since I'm disabled and currently on crutches due to my spine collapsing. When I arrived around midnight, I had to ring the bell twice to get the night clerk to wake up. He wasn't NOT friendly but when I asked if the room was downstairs, he said there were too many workers staying and handed me my room key, effectively dismissing me--no offer of assistance!!! I was too tired to go elsewhere but I stood at my car for close to 30 minutes alternating between crying and cursing. I was parked in handicapped near the office and while there were parking spaces closer to my upstairs room, they weren't wide enough for me to open my car door and get out without my crutches hitting the car next to me. So not only was I on my own to get my luggage upstairs, but I was fairly far from my room. I drug two loads up to my room. As I was coming down the stairs the first trip, my suitcase fell down the last flight of stairs making a huge racket. No one came to assist me. In the end I had to take my suitcase one step at a time praying to God that my back wouldn't break (AGAIN!!) I emptied and put away the contents of my suitcase and went to the car to load it with what I hoped was the last of my luggage. I understand that things happen but I strongly feel he was being lazy because he was tired and I get that but I'm the customer. At least offer to help me because you can't...
