We came here close to three years ago, but I am just now reviewing this place.
I was really curious to why there were so many people lined up outside, and I honestly wasn’t aware that this was owned by Chip & Joanna Gaines. So obviously, I had to be a follower and drag my husband to try this place out. I normally love to try out bakeries wherever we travel. We got a little bit of everything and then some, and keep in mind these were from a couple years ago, so some if not most of these items are not available.
Seasonal Items: Puppy Chow Hand Pie: my husband chose this one out, and surprisingly I liked this just a little more than he did. It had all the components of puppy chow, and if I’m not mistakened the inside was some kind of chocolate filling. Good, but I think it would have been better warmed up. Nutty Cinnamon Roll: I thought I was going to like this because if I can remember correctly, this was filled with pistachios or some kind of nuts. I remember it being little dry, and once again, maybe it could have been better warmed up.
Seasonal Cupcakes: Wonderland (seasonal item - red velvet cake with peppermint buttercream and topped with crushed peppermint): I usually like red velvet cake, but this with the peppermint was a no for me. I wanted to like it, but I didn’t it. My husband did though.
Cup O’ Jo (seasonal item - chocolate cake with espresso buttercream and topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean): the first thing that hit me was the espresso flavor, but since it was chocolate cake I wasn’t too much of a fan. It was decent, but not my favorite.
Campfire (seasonal item - chocolate cake with chocolate chips & graham cracker crust with vanilla buttercream and topped with a toasted marshmallow): once again, it was because it’s chocolate cake. Not much of a fan.
Regular Items: Original Cinnamon Roll (topped with cream cheese glaze): I actually enjoyed this, when we got it I think it had just come out of the oven not to long ago because the glaze was still fairly warm. Til this day I am still talking about this cinnamon roll!! The Silo Cookie (oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with peanut butter chips & walnuts): we liked the cookie, but didn’t absolutely love it. It was decent.
Regular Cupcakes: Old School (yellow cake with chocolate buttercream and sprinkles): I’m not normally a yellow cake gal, but I wanted to give this a try, and it was okay. My husband enjoyed this more than I did. I don’t think this is on the menu anymore, but at the time this was a regular item.
Strawberries ’N Cream (strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream): this was my favorite out of the six cupcakes we tried! She was light and not too sweet. I usually gravitate more towards the fruity or lemony cake flavors.
Lemon Lavender (lemon & lavender vanilla cake with lemon buttercream): this was my second favorite! There’s just something about lemon cake that makes me happy.
In general, we enjoyed trying this place out. I would come back for the cinnamon roll, and my two...

Well, imagine a Fixer Upper-esque incredible reveal but with a beautiful yet satisfying smile on your face after tasting one of Chip and Joanna Gaines' gourmet cupcakes. Yeah, it's that kind of an experience for your taste buds.
To have the greatest cupcake experience the best thing to do is to know what to expect. Since the Magnolia Market + Garden is within a hens hop from the bakery, you can expect lots of cupcake lovers to be lined up for the experience. My advice is to be prepared to stand in the queue and be at peace with it.
During my visit I decided that Wednesday around 3:30 in the afternoon was the best time for me. I was through the front door and in a patio chair within 15 minutes. Now, ladies and gents, if you decide to visit on a Friday or Saturday you might expect the queue to move about as fast as a herd of turtles. However, the bakery has an incredibly efficient order processing system. Here's how it works.
As you enter the bakery a friendly greeter hands you a small menu card. You decide which goodies you'd like to order by marking the quantity next to grouped and sorted categories. The menu items are cleverly named yet simple enough to remember while each baked goods description contains just the right amount of detail to imagine what each item might taste like but with enough character to make deciding a bit exciting!
As you pick and choose you'll quickly reach the bakery counter where a smiling clerk takes your order, payment, and then sends you down the glass counter to admire all of Joanna's tasty delights.
At the end of the display counter is the order pick-up. This is where your name will be called and each item in your order is reviewed to ensure you get all your mouthwatering treats. You'll grab your fancy-smancy cupcake carrier and do a Texas turn around towards the rear exit where you'll find the awesome eco-friendly wooden utensils and napkin station. Yes, I loved that little biodegradable surprise you did Joanna. It absolutely adds an extra dimension to the tasting experience.
As you exit the bakery full of anticipation you'll be under the side awning which leads to the gorgeous checkerboard courtyard and outdoor seating. If your timing is right, grab a seat at one of Joanna's chic marble tabletops and enjoy your delectable goods from the Silos Bakery Co....
Read moreWhat a complete waste of time and money. Cookies are not even baked there they are made by someone else. Don't belive me wastebyour own money and find out what's printed on the label. Pet friendly not a chance one ladybsay yes we can enter with my support dog and another says no! Thanks a lot for training your disgruntled employees so well. Cookies I can get better for a 1/10th the cost at Kroger and at least will have flavor. Cup cake ....if I'm gonna pay $5 for a cupcake it at least better have plenty of icing and filled well...guess what nope. I don't get the comments where everyone says Cookies hard a s a rock that took and extra 24 hours after buying. First day they were of with texture, flavor was whatever. In the gift store just go to target or Walmart to get your made in China junk. As for the old doors they had for sale seriously just because you were blessed with a TV show does not mean you can sell garbage for 100 times the cost. However down to earth I am, there is so many ignorant people out there willing to pay your price for things you can get anywhere disappointment is offered. At this point I can only imagine what those unsuspecting people got when your family supposedly remodeled the homes they were buying. Magic of TV and ignorance of America in today's day and age made you millionaires. Why don't you take care of your employees better because they ALL seem mad at the world. Thanks again for a total waste of my money and time. By the way I like many Americans work 16 hours a day just to make it. When we spend our money we expect quality you deliver disappointment, heartbreak, and despair. I wasted my time off just to visit your place and I will not make that mistake again. Oh and don't forget you better anny up for parking because that isn't free not even if you spend $130 in the bakery for $3 worth of day old half made recipes from someone else's kitchen.
Just read someone review with Silos reply you are liars saying you have free parking!! You own the entire city block plus and the is NO FREE PARKING. Not only are you a disappointment but you are liars as well!!...
