Goodberry's Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Wake Forest

My husband and I took our youngest son to get ice cream here. We have not been here before as we just moved from out of state. My youngest son has a severe egg allergy and shortly after eating this ice cream he started complaining of his lips itching and throat hurting. His lips then proceeded to swell significantly and started to get hives on his body. He only ever orders vanilla ice cream as he is picky. We have never encountered this issue with any other place we have gotten ice cream from. Upon calling to check they do in fact have eggs in their ice cream. I'm not wanting to bash the company but think there should be a more prominent sign stating what potential allergens could be in the ice cream. I stood at the window for awhile and didn't see any allergen warning signs that stood out to me. I will be checking again just to make sure it isn't something I missed. I'm unsure if the eggs inside of ice cream is a Carolina thing but I will definitely be triple checking...

I took my son here for ice cream. This was our first time. We decided to get the Carolina concrete. In big letters on their board for how to do the Carolina concrete it says choose your ice cream then choose as many toppings or syrups as you want. Big letters. A bit farther down below in little tiny letters it says first topping included and more toppings extra. When the lady told us the total I was shocked but didn't want to be rude. I kept trying to figure out what might have gone wrong then asked the cashier and she pointed out the fine print. I don't blame her. I could tell that she felt bad about it. I blame management for what essentially amounts to a scam in their signage. I should have just left, but did not want to do that out with my son. It just feels bad to be scammed. Somehow, this was our first time here. The staff was friendly, patient, and moved quickly. We didn't have a long wait for our items.

My husband just got a scoop of sugar free vanilla, which was honestly delicious. Our son got a banana milkshake and he devoured it. I got a concrete and it was a bit of a let down. You're supposed to be able to turn the whole thing over, but if I had done that, it would have just dripped out of the cup. I got peanut butter fudge and chocolate chips added to it and neither were what I expected, but the taste was good. A staff member told us the add-ins were what contributed to the runniness.
