Joe's Pizzeria & Restaurant II — Restaurant in Wall Township

Ordered thru doordash. The dasher was efficient and NO additional deliveries. Doordash gave me a full refund. The pie was ice cold - inedible, I thru it out. What is wrong with this restaurant. When I have ordered in person, there regulars come in and take over and Joe's waits on them first even after I put in my order. These regulars expect that once they share their voice. I am thinking this happened this time to my dasher.

PREVIOUS POST: I ordered today and have been ordering every week since my previous post. The pie arrived ice cold. Doordash response was we will give you a $3 credit. Please know this was not the restaurants fault but a dasher who clearly had many deliveries before he picked up my order. Unfortunately, I am unable to review doordash separately from Joe's. I am altering my rating but that is not of Joe's but Doordash. Going forward, I will order for pickup. It is a very good restaurant.

Previous Rating: I from ordered yesterday a plain pie thru doordash. The pie was delicious. Perfect balance of sauce, cheese and new york style with a thin crust. I could so taste the flavor of their sauce - amazing. Obviously as others have recognized, a really good pizzaria. Adding doordash to the picture was a really good decision on their part. Thank you!

PS - since I have never evaluated Joe's online, I find the owners response in conjunction to what I am sharing below additionally perplexing.

I ordered a plain small pie and a dinner salad. I was told 45 minutes for delivery. I called after 30 minutes and asked when I can expect delivery. I was told that the pie just came out. So, I asked if it would be another ten minutes or when I can expect delivery. They said 45 minutes and I was nice just inquiring and their response was we have had trouble with you before. I was shocked. While I have picked up and have a good experience with the quality of their pie, I have not had a good experience with delivery as others have indicated on google. Maybe I have ordered for delivery 2 times in 12 months. Like myself, I have suggested to neighbors that they also not do delivery with Joe's but was shocked by their response tonight and they don't even realize how much business I haver given them in the past 12 months myself or my neighbors. I am speechless and feel that I have to be based on my neighbors experience that their delivery experience has been similar and I am now assuming customer service is going...

Joe's usually prepares pizzas well but tonight one of our pizzas was burnt. The bottom was blacken as was the edge. Some of the cheese was also overcooked and was a solid dark brown crispy cheese bit. The sauce was great were it was not overcooked. The lobster mac n cheese was also ivercooked. The noodles were sticky and tough, the lobster meat was dry and tough due to the overcooking. How unfortunate a good lobster lost his claws in vain. The cheese sauce was sticky not creamy. While the overcooking of the mae and cheese could have eluded our server's eye the blacbken and burnt pizza should never have left the kitchen. I do not recommend the classic antipasta dish, basically a salad with a little bit of cheap deli meat and cheese chopped up into itsy bitsy pieces overwhelmed by vinegary pepprocini. Go for the imported antipasta dish.Now on the good side our other pizza was great. The calamari was deep fried crispy ont out side moist on the inside and not overcooked. The mussels .marinara sauce was tangy the mussels soft but with integrity just not enough of them. The lasagna was meaty, the ricotta sweet, the sauce well seasoned. The pasta at Joe's is almost always top notch and prepared to order when the diner makes a special request. Our server was quick and attentive and very friendly and ATTENTIVE! Wow..I was impressed!! Everything from the service to the dessert was fabulous! The place is spotless, and beautifully designed. Love the Italian music(and Sinatra) playing in the background. I had the cheese raviolis and they were amazing, the red sauce was the best and freshly made HOMEMADE sauce, definitely not from a can!! We were first served salads that you could tell that they were freshly made and has not been pre-made and the house dressing was terrific! My husband had penne vodka with chicken. I had a few bites and was amazed.. the sauce was out of this world and the chicken was not rubbery tasted like it was freshly made as well. Can't forget to mention the freshest, tender and breaded calamari that pretty much melted in our mouths! The fact that they bring fresh, warmed bread out to the table first is a very nice touch! Love the fact that Joe himself came out to check on us! He seemed very involved in the whole restaurant! Our Waitress was very sweet (although I can't remember her name) and being able to bring our own wine made it even better since I'm very picky about my wine!! I had the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was very tasty! Overall I would give our experience 11 out of 10 stars!! Joe's is great and will be my Go to for take out, eat in and delivery!
