It disappoints me to have to write this review as a customer of many years that has spent lots of money at rock nails n spa but yesterday I was treated so poorly and spoken down to, I hope this will make management fix this problem so that no other paying client endures what I did.
First and foremost, this isn't the first time I've been mistreated at Rock but it's going to be the last time.
I came in yesterday as per my online appointment, I usually see Aling for SNS dip powder but she was all booked up and since I was not feeling the best last week, I was passed my 2 week regular time to come in so I booked the girl next to her, Fei Fei. Fei Fei sits next to Aling, and as a regular I've noticed she does a very good job so made my appt with her instead of Aling and didn't think it would be a big deal if I had someone else give me SNS this time, well I was wrong.
In the middle of Fei Fei doing my nails she asks me what am I doing here on a Sunday and why did I book with her. Aling was next to her and was clearly talking about me while she had her own client in front of her. I said, is it okay that I am here? I usually go to Aling, but she was booked up and Fei Fei just makes a smirk at me and looks the other way. I start to get upset in the chair because all I wanted was someone to cut and redo my nails, I was so worried they were so long that I'd break them and end up hurting myself. It wasn't until I was visually upset did Fei Fei say oh no it's ok. (Reminder to be kind to everyone because you never know what someone is dealing with in their personal life). Fei Fei goes to the front to tell someone that I was upset (I only found this out later)
When it was time to pay, no one said anything to me, not even the cashier that knew what had just happened. With a shaking voice and red face I asked the cashier if it's not allowed to go to another nail tech if your regular one is booked up and she says, no it's okay and then continues to tell me that Fei Fei told her what happened (cashier would not have spoken to me about this if I never brought this up). They charge me full price for the horrid experience and then cashier asks me if I want to speak to the manager who apparently doesn't speak English but she will translate for him.
Cashier then goes on and says, Aling wanted to know why you didn't book with her and Rachel (who I used to go to) wanted to know why I don't go to her anymore. So clearly, these women will talk about their clients with each other so when you decide to switch or book with another tech, they get very upset but also know you don't know what they're saying as they talk about you in front of you. My other issue is that theses girls are not nice. Yes, I used to go to Rachel, she used to do a good job and then she started doing a not so good job, she would yell at me and not be so nice so I switched to another nail tech. All I want is to find someone who is kind and does a good job, is that asking for too much?
So cashier gives me a gift card per the manager for the experience (which I don't know how much is even on this or if I'll even use it). Writes down a name of Maggie on the card and says, you can always go to this girl.
This experience completely ruined my day and was not expected to be interrogated by a nail tech for coming in on a Sunday and getting my nails done. Very bad way to treat your long standing clients Rock Nails, don't let this happen to...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. Not the first time I have had problems with Rock Nails but it will certainly be the last. Firstly, the fact that this place has 913 reviews should be a red flag and the only reason for their 4.6 rating is that they are giving $10 off to customers that will make a review to help with their plentiful one star reviews constantly being left.
I spend a lot of money here and is quite disappointing to see the drama that goes on with techs and customers or the favoritism that goes on with the customers that leave larger tips. I made an appointment online like I usually do, walked in and said I was here for my 11:30 appointment, the front called over to my tech and she waved me back. I sat down at her station, as I always frequent and asked me if I'd like the usual, which I said yes. Now this isn't a review bashing the tech, she was great, this is about the receptionists. As I sat there, the receptionist runs over to me and asks me if I had an appointment, I said of course I do, she demanded that I show her proof of my appointment which I couldn't find and tells me I cannot get my nails done today. So I get pulled to the front, she pretends to be busy and then I had to talk to another receptionist. Unfriendly and unaccommodating, she is also asking for my proof of appointment. Clearly there was an issue on the website and it never registered my appointment for today. I asked for the manager Jason, and I only know his name because a few months ago he had called me over an instance of one of the techs talking bad about me because I switched my tech to someone else and the new tech was asking 20 questions on why I made the appointment, so much that I did not feel welcome. I was told Jason was not there and there was no manager present.
The fact that my tech sat me down and I was at their station to being kicked out of my seat by the receptionist should scare you far away from this business.
Disappointed as I liked the location and the work my usual tech, Maggie does but I can no longer spend hundreds of dollars at a business that no longer values me or my money -- and don't bother going to Beon Nails ever, they are owned by the same people.
Any nail salon that has a sign in their window that says $10 off for a positive google review, you should run for the hills - don't let their 913 reviews make you think otherwise, or you'll be writing the next one...
Read morei’ve been here a couple times over the past several years and have gotten good and OK results. But after today’s appointment, I will not be returning. I had booked an acrylic, full set and a pedicure, but they keep trying to persuade and charge, or upgrade you to gel and higher priced services. I understand why they do this, but after I said, I’m OK the first time I would appreciate if they did not continue to ask me or try to charge me . The pedicure was perfect and on time, but I ran into issues after I got my acrylic full set, and when I went up to the register to pay. i’m not sure if the technician that I went to was new, but the acrylic full set came out clumpy and was not the same from finger to finger . I’m not sure if it was a time issue or the technician was not having a good day, but she began to rush and become a little bit passive aggressive when she was telling me to use the UV light. I always tip for my services in every aspect. But I did not tip this time. I went up to pay at the register, and the worker at the cash register was nice and asked if I was going to be leaving a tip and showed me the slips with the technicians names. I said I was fine because I was going to get my own cash from the ATM and give it to them in person instead of leaving it in the slip to say thank you. But before I even got to walk 2 feet away to the ATM in front of the store, where the doors are, he went over his radio and asked the technicians if I already left the money and then the two technicians came up and said oh, you didn’t leave me a tip YET . this behavior is rude and turns away people from tipping. This encounter made me extremely uncomfortable, and the expectation and way that they handle this situation was so ridiculous. Of course I’m going to tip, but after they said that I change my mind. Tipping is not mandatory, although I always do, this behavior is unacceptable .I will not be...
