Dissatisfied and left wanting more. I am not one to leave reviews, ESPECIALLY negative reviews. We arrived around 7pm and last seating was posted to be at 8:30pm. We were sat and greeted promptly. However, service and food quality left us questioning. We were never offered water, had to ask after about 10 minutes. We were only given about 2 minutes to decide on our choices. Started with the garlic truffle fires, which were okay. I had the dragon chop which consisted of about 90% clearly bagged shredded lettuce. My boyfriend had the King Kong burger which had more ham than burger. He was never asked how he would like his burger was prepared - weird in my opinion but okay. Within 15 minutes of us being sat, our server began sweeping her section. The two tables next to use were labeled as closed for the evening, so not sure why she was sweeping about 6 inches away from our feet- keep in mind we had gotten our entrees about 2 minutes before sweeping began (can’t stress this enough - RIGHT next to us). I have never in my life felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. It was clear our server no longer wanted to be there and was ready to be done - an hour and a half before their last seating. $81 for 2 mediocre entrees, an app and two drinks. Price worth up to your discretion. Still left a 30% tip out of respect for the server and the fact that it is New Year’s Eve but coming from a seasoned server and small business manager, service needs desperate attention. Will not be returning unless I hear tremendous change. Considering the level of hospitality and high level service in Walla Walla, I am extremely...
Read moreI have dined in many places being on the road for a living. Also lived in Las Vegas for a bit. I have never felt so ripped off in my life. Food was over 2 hrs late to table, We were last to be served, and Really poor service.
Server did an absolutely careless job with table for how few tables existed seeing as we were one of 2 tables at 11pm. They didnt split tab after bringing it up multiple times including at the very start. They Didn't check in enough on table letting drinks run dry during our wait. When they did, They only half listened like they were in a rush to play on their phone in the back, basically walking away when people were still talking to them.
Food was alright after the huge delay. 1 step above truckstop diner food. Its basic "trendy" over priced eating you find in pretty much any downtown in the country( I'm looking at you Nashville and Phoenix). Cool I guess if you like waiting around and want to talk but there HAS TO BE cheaper options or better quality for the price in the valley for that.
Table of 4 over all was $175 with a $0 tip. I'll do my usual and pass the tip on to a server who cares. Ive seen lightyears better at a Country Pride in a truckstop, which is sad. 200% tips are fun to give out to people who try. Seriously try giving min wage to min wage service and reward people who actually bring their best. Those folks REALLY deserve it in 2023 so let reward hard work.
Really shocked this place has 4.5 stars after coming home. Are standards really that low here? Obvious to say I...
Read moreWe visited this establishment this past weekend from Seattle on a surprise birthday adventure trip for my daughter who has a small chihuahua who travels frequently as well. I chose the Red Monkey after much research as I travel abroad frequently and plan well in advance. I thought the place looked to be great fun for dinner after a lovely day visiting wineries, shops and scenery. We wandered out for dinner from our pet friendly cozy hotel at about 7:00 pm (they advertise open until 10:00pm) with great expectations for a meal and grabbing souvenir sweatshirts, etc. as we do everywhere we visit together. Unfortunately, the advertised 'fido friendly' clause was not honored with the attendant/waitperson literally interrogating us asking if my grandoghter "was a service dog, and if not, a support animal?", to which she rudely said they could not accommodate us as she already asked her co-worker and stated to me, " I would have known that had I read their website... " *just scoured it again...smdh... Nice! We left after considering ordering and wandering back to our hotel, but it was the experience we had come for...so we passed entirely and wandered down the block to another lovely establishment that advertises 'fido friendly' and were greeted with the utmost gracious service and cuisine...with the pup. Shame for the Red Monkey, you lost close to $250.00 revenue on that one, and our hotel barkeep (a local) told us we didn't want your food anyway when we returned for a night cap. Cheers~ ~FG...
