Stone Soup Cafe is located in Walla Walla, Washington. I have to chuckle when I hear the name Walla Walla, Washington. As a kid I heard this city referenced in Bugs Bunny cartoons when he would do his sales pitch from the "Wishy Washy Washing Machine Company from Walla Walla, Washington. I digress. We were wine tasting and as Long Duk Dong would say, "Donger need food". Stone Soup Cafe was highly recommended by the wineries we had visited that morning. We ordered at the counter; wife had half grilled cheese with a cup of broccoli cheddar soup and I ordered the special cajun chicken ceasar wrap. Order was delivered to our table rather quickly. My wrap was huge and bursting with flavor and my wife's grilled cheese was good but she was not as impressed with the soup. Each order receives a little chocolate chip cookie included as a bonus. The cafe has plenty of seating and tables were spread out as per C-19 restrictions. Stone Soup Cafe was a wonderful choice for lunch especially after a morning of tasting wine. If Bugs was still making cartoons, I am sure he would mention the Stone Soup Cafe from Walla Walla, Washington....
Read moreI love that they deliver! Forgot your lunch at home? Just order a delicious lunch from the Stone Soup Cafe and they will make sure you don't go hungry. Don't eat meat? No problem. The Stone Soup Cafe has several vegetarian options on the menu. I tried their Veggie Burger and it's delicious! Some of my Stone Soup favorites include: the Taco Salad (Haystack style), the Cajun Chicken Caesar Salad (I'm not a fan of real bacon, so I get it with veggie bacon), the Turkey Ranch sandwich (I get it with veggie bacon), the Reuben sandwich, the Veggie Supreme sandwich, and the Egg Salad sandwich. Many of the sandwiches can be personalized to your taste with bread, veggie, and condiment options. I don't order soup here, but my friends are big fans of the Chicken Enchilada soup and the Corn Chowder. There's always a "soup of the day" so check the menu. If you have room for dessert, try one of their generously sized Rice Krispy bars. Yum! If you're dining in, the atmosphere is friendly and casual. Read moreFood was okay. Very cafeteria atmosphere and the sandwiches were just a few points above lunch room quality. Wasn't a fan of the chicken salad as there was soooooooo much mayo you couldn't taste anything but the mayo, same goes for the pasta salad just way to much mayo.
Side note unrelated to the food:
It was also kinda an awkward social setting, may have just been the time/day and there's nothing wrong with this at all but 99% of the folks there were elderly so the whole time we waited for our food there was no shame staring going on at me and my partner for I suppose not quite looking like the "norm", a lot like walking into a church where you're not known.
Probably won't make this a...
