I had heard that Muchachos Tacos was good, but you have to take local recommendations with a grain of salt. Located in the heart of Wallace, you wouldn’t expect this level of culinary excellence, friendly ambience and authentic regional charm in a restaurant that serves tacos in Idaho. What a pleasant surprise! This is no ordinary taqueria. The menu boasts a wide selection of creative choices for tacos, burritos or bowls with your choice of pork, beef, chicken, mariscos and even vegetarian. Each is prepared differently than you’re probably used to. It’s all incredibly delicious and the presentation is outstanding. The carnitas (or al pastor) was probably the best I’ve ever tasted. That’s a bold claim, considering my Southern California upbringing. The portions here are generous and prices are fair, especially on Taco Tuesday when you can get three delicious “street tacos” (your choice) for just five bucks. The chips & queso appetizer is good - don’t skip it. The fountain drinks are mixed perfectly. That’s rare! Service is prompt and friendly and it’s obvious the owner here cares very much that the customers are satisfied. This place rates a solid 5 stars and is now THE place I will stop at when...

Wow... Just WOW!!!

The food here is amazing. I don't know what they did to extract so much flavor from everything, but whatever they did, it works. The tacos seem a bit pricey until you eat one, then you end up ordering two more as you realize you are paying for actual high-quality food, not Taco Bell. The nachos are by far the best my wife and I have EVER had. The food is clean and just packed with flavor. I kind of want to go there for lunch as I am writing this and remembering how good it all is. I have been there three times in four days now.

The service is also awesome. My sister has an insane number of food allergies, and the lady who helped us went over each item in detail and put together a meal my sister was able to eat, and that was still packed with flavor. The staff is very friendly, and even though they were extremely busy, they still took the time to make us feel welcome and appreciated.

Muchacho's has quickly shot to the top of the list of food my wife and I will be eating frequently in the area. The food and service is beyond top notch.

Lastly, the Rojo Sauce she makes is insane. I bought a bottle of it for home, and have since eaten half the bottle, just with a spoon....

When I first saw Muchacho's Tacos while driving by, I was very hungry and needed a good, filling meal. Muchacho's Tacos certainly delivered! I started out my meal with chips, the pico de gallo, and the guacamole. The chips were crispy and has just the right amount of saltiness. The pico de gallo had such juicy tomatoes and the guac was so creamy and delicious. For my main course, I indulged in the Burrito Bowl Supreme with shredded beef. When it arrived, it looked like a work of art (and tasted like one, too). The fresh jalapenos on top added the right amount of spice to the entire meal. The shredded beef that I added to my meal had so much flavor and the other ingredients in the bowl just added to the experience. I would like to compliment the atmosphere and all the wonderful decor. I would also like to compliment my server. While giving my party and I excellent service, she was also dealing with the other customers and was extremely nice to them as well. Overall, I would love to visit Muchacho's...

Updated review: The food is still amazing. We had the street tacos, tamales, and nachos this time. The tacos are always excellent, but the nachos were also surprisingly good. The tamales tasted good, but are imported so I could take them or leave them. This place is absolute fire; a hidden gem in Wallace. The food was amazing and service phenomenal. I loved the homemade salsas and fresh combinations of ingredients for traditional and new age dishes. Will definitely be returning. When they say the chicken tinga is spicy they aren't kidding, but the flavor was worth the heat. We also had the steak, shrimp and al pastor tacos and a steak burrito which were all delicious.

Best tacos I've ever had in my life. I've flown across the country—twice—to have these tacos. The menu changes and I took a pic of the menu when I ate there yesterday. There is a great selection to choose from as you can see and they are all amazing. In my other photo, the top taco is the Filet Mignon and the bottom taco is the Duck Confit. They are both amazing. My wife had the chicken taco and that is also out of this world good. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. If you're driving through the panhandle of Idaho, stop into Wallace and Muchachos Tacos and treat your mouth to some amazing flavors.
