Trash Food, Trash Service – Stay Away Another so-called “highly rated” Asian restaurant serving up straight garbage. Let me save you the mistake I made. The food? Disgusting. The service? Even worse. I called to report the awful meal I received, and instead of any kind of accountability, the woman I spoke to told me it was my problem. No apology, no solution—just pure attitude and blame-shifting. Classy. Let’s talk about the food: • Sweet and Sour Chicken: A soggy, inedible mess. The chicken was drowning in sauce, so saturated the breading slid off like wet paper. Ever had meat slide out of mush? Now I have. Absolutely vile. • Crab Rangoon: Not crispy. Not even close. Rubbery, stale, and lazy. Like someone microwaved it and hoped no one would notice. • Egg Roll: Same story—rubbery and limp. Zero crunch. Zero flavor. Zero effort. • Wonton Soup: Greasy, flavorless broth with gummy, overcooked wontons that tasted like they’d been soaking in hot water for hours. You’d get more taste chewing a napkin. I live less than two miles away, so don’t even try to blame the drive. If your food can’t survive a 5-minute trip, you shouldn’t be in the takeout business. And when I asked to return the meal? I was told to “throw it in the trash” because they weren’t offering a refund or credit. The only honest thing they said all night—because that’s exactly where this food belongs. Do yourself a favor—skip this place. The food is trash. The service is trash. The entire experience was a waste of time, money, and appetite. They clearly don’t care about quality or customers. Shameful.

Haang’s Chinese was a place we stopped just because we were driving by. We can be harsh when a restaurant isn’t good, but the food here is awesome. This is a take out only with a few tables and chairs out side. It is right across from Walled Lake, so there is a decent view as a bonus We had Moo Goo Gai Pan, and General Tso Chicken , and pork spring rolls. Everything was cooked great, was all fresh, and the chicken portions were twice as much as you usually get with a Chinese meal. Prices were reasonable too The lady who took our order was very nice and it took 10 minutes to get the food. It’s worth the stop if you want Chinese whether you are right in Walled Lake or need to drive a bit to get here

I'm lucky today. It's warm outside so the outdoor tables are viable in this otherwise carry-out only restaurant. A mix of Thai & Chinese cuisines are on offer with full descriptions for each entree. Service is very quick as is the food preparation, it only took about three minutes for my order of Chicken Curry Pad Thai to be ready to go. So I went and parked my carcass at one of the three outdoor tables. (Anything is better than eating in the car) As is often the case with Chinese restaurants, the meat really needed to be cut smaller. Other than that, it was delicious and appropriately spiced. Good stuff, Maynard. My bill was just under $10 for lunch. Good deal, too.

Utterly shocked that this place has a 4.7 rating on google maps. They are open a bit later than my preferred Thai spots, and with the high rating, i figured it’s time to try them. I suspect they are gaming the google rating system, because that was an extremely disappointing dinner experience. Four of us ordered soup, appetizers, and an entree each. The Tom Yum was actually tasty, but this is where things also went wrong. Most Thai places are similar in the magnitude of spice, but this place is way too spicy, need to calibrate. I had tears in my eyes from the heat starting from the first spoonful, but tried to soldier on, since the flavor was still good.

The vegetable spring roles were adequate but definitely not as good as Siam Spicy or Sawasdee. The fried Tofu, was also pretty good. The orange chicken with medium spice was terrible, very spicy again, but even worse was the low quality chicken, and poor preparation, similar to low grade fried chicken. The Pad Thai Noodles were ok, but not great. Two more Thai entrees of chicken & noodles were ordered, but one person took two bites and lost interest, and didn’t care to take any home, and the fourth person ate 4-5 bites before losing interest and also abandoning the balance.

In summary, the customer service was good, the interior was small but cozy, the spices need calibration, and the majority of the menu might need an overhaul. I don’t like to leave harsh criticism, but this was a poor experience and I will warn others from dining here. A more appropriate google maps review would be a 2.5 out of 5 until some improvements are made...

Haang’s Bistro, where do I begin. The Curry Pad Thai is perfect every time. The peanut Curry is the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten! Very delicious crab rangoons. Haven’t tried a fish I didn’t like. They even do an amazing fried rice! I love this place and the amazing staff! Great for take out, as it’s super quick, but being across from Walled Lake, it’s also a great place to dine in. The familiar faces of the staff are hard to beat as well, we have grown very fond of this place. Yes, the food can be spicy, as it’s the most authentic I’ve had. If you’re used to a medium spice level, I suggest “mild plus” as it gives you that little bite but you can still enjoy it. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! They also have a large and delicious assortments of bubble teas. Portion sizes are very generous and I can normally have lunch the next day and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this local spot—they set the bar high! Consider this my love letter to Haang’s...
