Bourbon Highway Country Bar — Restaurant in Walnut Creek

Made reservations for my family of 4 for 730pm on a Saturday night. Never had been before but excited to try it. Arrived to find that the reservation was not respected and the venue had been switched to open, self-seating earlier in the evening. All tables full. Nobody seemed to be running the front of house and no apparent manager anywhere. Went to the bar to inquire about our res, bartenders ignored us, seemingly intentionally, despite standing at the bar to get their attention for quite a while, and they were busily chatting with their regulars and topping off their drinks and not serving others. Finally found a waitress who also told us that our teen kids would be required to leave in a few minutes since the place became 21 yo only at 8pm. Why were they open for reservations on OT?...

This is a great bar\restaurant with lots to offer. Friendly and professional staff, ice cold beer, crafty cocktails (my favorite is the Old Fashioned), and plenty of hard alcohol to choose from including my favorite whiskey(Redneck Riviera endorsed by John Rich). No matter what mood I'm in, I can find something delicious on the menu from salads to chicken wings to burgers to ribs. My personal favorites are the chicken waffle sandwich, all the burgers, steak salad, pretzel bites with beer cheese and mozzarella sticks. Oh, also taco deals on Tuesday. My girlfriends and I came Saturday night around 8:30-9pm. I did not like that the security guard that was checking out ID’s/drivers license was bending all of our identifications. I let him know if he was afraid that we were minors why doesn’t the business have a scanner to check if they’re real. It is 2022, every other place I have been to just scans ID. Also he was testing us on where we live… we all paid $10 to get in. We will not be back, and do yourself a favor and invest in an ID scanner.

I do not appreciate my id being bent and making me feel that I have a fake ID. I’m 24 years old and I might not look my age but it does not mean that I should be treated this way. Me or...
