El Azteca — Restaurant in Wapakoneta

This place was AWESOME!!!! We were immediately greeted when we walked in and sat down. It was a little after 7pm but we did not have a wait. Our server was so friendly and outgoing, and was quick to make sure there was nothing else we needed, all while wearing a genuine smile on his face. I wish I would have remembered his name. They instantly brought is out chips and salsa. My husband loved the regular salsa that was brought out but I like it HOT! So I asked for hotter sauce and they did not disappoint. The hot sauce wasn't just hot, it was extremely flavorful! That's hard to find. I ordered the ChorioPollo as thats my favorite dish and the portion was HUGE. The entire plate was covered which was awesome because I was able to take it home and have for lunch the next day! We had blue moon on Tap and it was ice cold! Perfect temperature! I have to say, I was so surprised that it took us coming to Ohio to find great Mexican food! We will be in the area for 3 months so I'm sure we will be eating here weekly. I cannot wait to go back! 'The Best' when it comes to mexican food. It's very quaint when walking in. A little 'hacienda' style with arches entering into the dining area or bar. Large atrium area windows to gaze out of in front. Very clean with dividers between all tables. Everyone, from the well-polished staff to the waiters/waitresses, are very friendly. Knowing English was great. The lighting above was just right to see the menu. The food was excellent. Couldn't have asked for a better meal. Fresh vegetables, rice, & refried beans with chicken tacos. It was refreshing and delicious. Just an all around great time. Will be back. I can not say enough about this incredible Mexican restaurant. I love it! I travel a lot. A lot. I am fortunate to get to experience a wide range of local restaurants in my travels. El Azteca definitely ranks in my Top Ten. I love this place, & all the people that make this local Wapakoneta restaurant what it is. A gold mine! Great food. Especially the fajita quesadilla!
