MUCH better than the location in Southfield. Regarding the Southfield location, I went there one day for lunch because I love Kerby's chicken kabob, pita bread, and rice for lunch -- and I was having a bad day so I needed comfort food. It also happens I invited a friend by text to join me (more on that in a moment*). I was seated, brought a soft drink.... and then nothing. The waitstaff stood around, and no one came to take my order for ten minutes. And they can't say I was forgotten about, because there were only about six other tables with guests.
Anyway, I left not in the greatest of moods but I really wanted a chicken kebob. I went to the Warren location, and without being rude or hostile, I explained to the waitress of my lousy experience at the Southfield location. She apologized and assured me she'd take very good care of me.
Moments later, the manager came over and asked me to explain what happened at Southfield. I told him, he too apologized and then called their manager. I didn't get a free meal or a discount -- but that wasn't exactly what I wanted. I wanted someone to make up for the earlier lousy experience, and they did.
As for the food, I already wrote about the chicken kebob, but when I'm feeling indulgent, I'll get a bacon double cheeseburger, fries, and a Sander's ice cream puff for dessert. As for American cuisine and comfort food, it doesn't get much better!
*As for the asking my friend to meet me at the Southfield location, he got my message too late and couldn't make it, but here's our text exchange:
Me: Hey - don't know what you're up to, but I'm at Kerby's on Telegraph having lunch... Just pulled up. 11:13 AM Him: Oh. Sorry. Long day. Next time 1:35 PM Me: Don't sweat it -- I left because no one waited on me... Has an awful job interview experience in Southfield this morning, and went there to make myself feel better. 1:36 PM Him: But I'm sure it didn't 1:38 PM Me: The fact that no one waited on me means it obviously didn't work... That Kerby's sucks. 1:38 PM Him: Lol. Yes it does 1:39 PM
So apparently I'm not the only who has that opinion of Kerby's...
Read moreAfter stopping for something to eat the wait staff were ok, the girl came over to us and took our order, I asked for one of the breakfasts and wanted to switch out pancakes for hash browns as the other breakfast on the menu had too many eggs for my liking and that one said no switch outs but this one didnt. After talking to the ignorant chief (I use that term VERY loosely) the poor girl came back and said that he wouldn't switch out the two for me although pancake and hash browns are the same cost. I said after hearing all his chest thumping that I wasn't interested in eating there (with a idiot like that behind the grill ???? nah) I would rather give my money to a business that values people coming through there door.
YES YOU ARE FAR FROM ANYTHING I WOULD CALL A CHIEF, YOU STAND BEHIND YOUR LITTLE GRILL MAKING A BIG FUSS SO EVERYONE CAN HEAR YOUR HAVING THINGS YOUR WAY .......THEN WHEN THE CUSTOMER LEAVES YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND AND SAY YOU WILL COOK IT ?????
SIR YOU HAVE SOME ISSUES !!!!! I WOULD TAKE A LONG HARD LOOK AT YOURSELF, PERHAPS BUY YOURSELF A G.I.JOE PUNCH BAG TO USE BEFORE YOU COME TO WORK SO YOU DONT HAVE TO 'MAN IT UP' OVER 18 YEAR OLD GIRLS.
Needless to say I will NEVER EVER eat at this diner. BAD BAD BAD. perhaps if you do go in there give the guy a pep talk like I did when I walked out about how great his attitude is.....its surprising really as he never said anything to a 6ft4 man that confronted him although he'll rip into all the young girls that work there. His the older one...
