UPDATED Feb 2023 Unfortunately, service here is on the decline, but on the other hand the 'new' Macomb store is a great place to shop. Most of the staff here are very good to work with, friendly and helpful. That alone makes up for the stock often being placed on pallets where customers have to walk around it or chance getting stuck between pallets and the cheeses for instance. A recent experience with the folks at the customer service counter leaves much to be desired, though when taking into account how little Meijer pays its staff, that's understandable. UPDATE 21 February 2022 First time using interior restroom here, needed to check a contact lens. To begin with, the restroom (singular) was hidden very well, but an employee pointed the way when asked. A sign on the door said "Out of Order" - upon checking the problem was serious but simple to fix. The toilet seat was missing one bolt, nothing more. Fortunately the sink/washbasin worked fine. I can't imagine the lack of imagination on the part of the management team who couldn't resolve this problem in less than an hour. UPDATE - 24 February 2021 For the last 10 months Meijer has been in a race to the bottom along with Kroger; my perception is that no one wants Walmart to be alone at the bottom. While one might admire the corporate compassion displayed by the apparent desire to 'leave no chain behind', as a customer I'm extremely dissapointed. There's no longer any difference in the checkout time. ORIGINAL (PRE-COVID) REVIEW Great place to shop, especially after midnight when Kroger, Target, etc are closed. Surprisingly wide variety of non-grocery products such as hardware, extension cords, insecticides, even clothing from the likes of CHAPS by Ralph Lauren and other name brands. This time of year there's also a good selection of Christmas trees and decorations, from stockings to lights. Deducted one star because during early morning hours self checkout is all that's available. It worked well enough on my last 2:30 am visit, but I prefer a cashier.

“In the heart of a suburban jungle, deep within the fluorescent-lit savannahs of Meijers, we find one of the most fascinating — and elusive — creatures in the modern retail ecosystem: the Pokémon card scalper.” It is just past 12 p.m., and the hunt has already begun. Nestled between the glittering shelves of collectible trading cards and the towering stacks of energy drinks, a group has formed — motionless, patient, and utterly focused. Observe how they’ve made camp. The alpha male has secured a shopping cart, balancing precariously like a meerkat on alert, scanning the horizon for movement — or perhaps a restock. Others, cloaked in hoodies and wielding smartphones, maintain a low profile on the ground, adapting to the cold linoleum floor like urban crocodiles basking in artificial light. Notice the social hierarchy — those seated closer to the trading cards clearly command more authority, having likely arrived before dawn. Their body language says it all: seasoned veterans of the cardboard hunt, hardened by years of booster box droughts and scalper skirmishes. The target? A fresh drop of Pokémon booster packs — precious loot in today’s volatile ecosystem. Once used to bring children joy, these shiny rectangles have now become a form of currency, traded in hushed whispers and online marketplaces. Occasionally, a bewildered civilian wanders into their territory, perhaps seeking office supplies or a can of cat food. But sensing the tension, they retreat quickly — understanding, instinctively, that they are not welcome here. And so, the waiting continues. Silent. Unmoving. Relentless. This… is the wild world of Pokémon scalping. A delicate dance of patience, hustle, and just a touch of madness — evolving in the most unlikely of habitats. Until next time… stay curious.

I was assigned the task of making the potato salad for a picnic today (that way we end up with variety if everyone brings something different). I boiled the potatoes and with just a few hours left to go before the picnic, the picture shows you the boiled potatoes when I cut them up. Really ... check out the photo if you have a strong stomach. These are the "Premium" potatoes. Imagine if they were just the standard potatoes - would I have found fistfuls of larvae growing inside? I bought the bag of potatoes from Meijer four days ago. You can see that Meijer has their name on the bag with the "light and fluffy" assurance. I think they meant "fetid, rancid and rotten". I was so mad I could barely keep from screaming. And, this is not the first time I've gotten rotten potatoes from Meijer. Their quality control is second to none .... sarcasm. Shoppers beware. Meijer slaps their brand on anything. Went to Meijer today to buy sushi ... it's their $5 sushi day. At 11:00 am there was no sushi available for the advertised $5 price because, as the manager told me, the "sushi guy" still had not arrived. The manager just shrugged like "too bad for you". Meijer doesn't care to live up to their promotions AND, do they know that Wednesday begins at midnight Tuesday night? Almost 12 hours later and there was no product at the promotion price. FALSE ADVERTISING. When will the authorities get involved with the endless Meijer flaunting of the law?

This is my go to place. This location is one of the best mijer locations in michigan i think. Every employee from the cashiers to the greaters and even the bankers at the huntington inside and customer service and even the back stock people are always friendly and willing to answer any and all questions and help look for any item ext.. i have been coming here pretty much my whole life. They treat you as family, They always have good deals and and great prices and sales, the store and even the bottle area is pretty clean inside for the most part all year round and they have almost anything and everything you could possibly want or need; there is something here for everyone of all ages and this place really makes me feel happy to come shop here, weather it be a quick visit or a long list of items needed, 26 mile mijers is the place to go! Also and this is the best part, the deals and coupons! They offer credit cards you can apply for and they have a online rewards program called mperks. I never go shopping with out looking at my Mperk coupons. Always check out using the phone number and pin once done shopping, you earn points coupons and cash back after reaching goals and particapaiting in offers in the store and promos. Mperks are my favorite rewards program Mijers is always saving me money and i am very satisfyed with this place. I will be forever be a loyal life long customer to this mijer location. $ saving tip... Also use ibotta to redeam more cash back on recipts from mijers...
