Doubleday's Home Plate — Restaurant in Washington Township

Edit: Noooo, what happened?! Hadn't splurged here in a while and just ordered takeout this evening. Everything has changed! I ordered a hamburger with pickles and mustard for my daughter and received a cheeseburger with no pickles. I ordered what used to be the most amazing buffalo fries and they were honestly pretty gross. The fries, chicken, and toppings have all changed. Can no longer recommend.

I'm so happy this place exists! Online ordering is very convenient. Doubledays food with this convenience has had me hooked since they opened, and I've since ordered from here many times. My order has been accurate, and my interaction with employees has been speedy and friendly 100% of the time. I'm pleased they continue to expand their menu and have brought over many of my favorite go-to orders at the Springboro location. Honestly, I find their fries and chicken better seasoned than the other locations and I don't know if I've had a better burger anywhere. As much as I love the burgers, my favorite menu item is the Buffalo chicken fries. Way better than the equivalent dish at Roosters. After a hard day working at a trade show, we had a very nice meal, both having the meatloaf sandwich and mac & cheese and beers (stout and lager). Lovely atmosphere. Our only suggestion would be that the sandwiches were over-slathered with catsup and that brown gravy or even BBQ sauce might have been a better topping. I liked the mac n cheese even though I suspect that Velveeta was used! Owning a business or two myself; it seems that restaurants are over priced these days and I'm wondering how long a clientele can be sustained when dinner costs over $25 per person.
