I was really looking forward to trying this place as both my daughter and I love crepes. I had looked it up online and didn't put two and two together to realize that it's located within the Bridge Street North Market building. Meaning that it doesn't have its own brick and mortar location but is located within a sort of small food hall. As such, you place your order at a counter. Wait for it to be made in to go containers and then find a seat somewhere to enjoy it.
I had the ham and eggs crepe while my daughter had the salmon crepe. I had a little issue with the fact that although the person who took my money said I could actually have my eggs fried over medium, they were scrambled. I'm not sure if she didn't understand me, if they can only be made scrambled, or if they just didn't care about how I asked for them to be made.
The crepes themselves were quite a disappointment. I'm still not sure if the crepe batter had too much flour in it or if they were just incredibly overcooked or possibly both. They were almost as dry as eating a tortilla; I've definitely had tortillas that were more moist. There was no actual flavor to them which increased them tasting like a tortilla. I won't accuse them of using ingredients other than they said they used. However, the salmon crepe tasted more like tuna. It truly had no salmon taste at all. The eggs in my crepe were decent tasting, but there was probably an inch and a half border on the outside edge of the crepe that had absolutely nothing in it except a few smatterings of cooked cheese. I watched them as they made quite a few crepes and they were folded beautifully and put in the containers. The salmon crepe was folded beautifully and put in the container. The egg crepe look like. Perhaps it was the first time that person ever assembled a crepe. So I basically only ate the inside of the crepe and then just pitched the rest of it.
To top that off, neither of the crepes that we got had any sauce whatsoever. The pictures showed them as dry on the menu but I assumed that there would be some kind of sauce inside the crepe. Maybe not so much with the ham and egg one since that came with cheese but the salmon one begged to have some kind of a sauce on/in it. Otherwise to me it's just a wrap with loose filling inside it. I mean it goes back to the crepe being more like a tortilla so I suppose it was more of a wrap. The only "sauce" you get is a little container of Sriracha mayo.
All of that being said, we did both get savory crepes. I can't give a full review on the Sweet crepes not having had them, however, they're made with the same crepe batter and came out very dark brown so I will guess that they too would have...
Read moreI ordered the Philly cheesesteak crepe, and it was a complete disappointment. It had no steak, just mushrooms. I went back and I told the lady at the cashier that it had no steak, and she said it does, “it is just so small you can’t see it, I am so sorry” and walked away. The thing is that can’t see the steak, the onions, or the cheese. It was bad, so I threw the food away and lost $17. What a rip off, deceiving people with this “Philly cheesesteak name”. I also think that the customer service is awful. I wasn’t expecting my money back, but at least an offer to get something else instead would have been...
Read moreFood was tasty but a little pricy, approx $14 per crepe. Second time I went, it was supposed to be open until 9, but at 6:30, had a closed sign up despite still cooking visibly and packing carryout orders. Was disappointed as drove a 35 minute round trip with my 8 year old who requested it. Not the end of the world, got some pizza from another place in the North market, but won't make a special trip for it ever again, and was put off at the lack of response from the employees when we came up to the counter. Call first if you are going to drive there, don't trust the...
