This place looked very promising from the website, signs, and the outside. The little shop is very nice and inviting, however, they have a lot of work to do regarding their service and availability of products. We arrived one morning when the shop was empty so we're able to order right away. It is summer in DC so it was very hot and we both wanted cold drinks. However, the lady working the counter informed us that they didn't have plastic cups for cold drinks, so that alone prevented us from ordering any type of cold coffee or smoothie from the menu. Then they also didn't have cream cheese so that limited our options regarding the toasts. The service was average and the portion of the avocado toast was generous but still think the prices are too high for what you get. Almonst $9 for an avocado toast and $5 for a latte feels like a bit too much even for DC.

Morning coffee can never go wrong when it’s an Aussie brew! As a Singapore local who’s spoilt by the Aussie cafe & food scene locally, I was delighted to find this cafe tucked in right across the JW Marriott hotel. Absolutely brilliant home brew - medium roast with notes of almond & mocha. No American cafes around serve coffee that come close to the quality of Bluestone - if you’re a coffee purist, you’ll know it! The staff even offered a taster before I decided between the americano / home brew.

I love that every time I bring my child into the children museum and I stopped to get coffee, the staff members are always so friendly! Even if they don’t have something they’re always very accommodating and requesting new things for me to try. Excellent coffee and excellent service. The only thing that keeps me from sitting inside of the cafĂ© is that it is always so hot but other than that everything is great.

Bluestone Lane offered such a cheerful afternoon pick-me up after a draining day at the museum with my daughter - we were greeted by the hilarious and hospitable Benji, who made a fantastic recommendation of the Berry Brekkie smoothie. My daughter LOVED this smoothie and has been talking about it constantly since our visit.

Barista Ali brewed me the PERFECT decaf capucchino - I usually think decaf coffee tastes burnt but this had a wonderful taste and texture to the milk. I loved the cocoa powder on top.

Another staff member, Louisa, was so patient with my four-year old when she couldn't decide between the banana or berry toast. I really have to celebrate this staff for being so kind and welcoming considering how busy the museum was. I had a great time with my daughter and will definitely come back to the museum on our next holiday to enjoy another Berry...

Visited the cafe for lunch while at the Children’s Museum with my daughter and three grandchildren. Ordered our food via their self service tablet. Was informed about 5-10 minutes after placing the order that they were out of blueberries and bananas. Had to alter order as a result although that wasn’t an issue or problem for us. Unfortunately, waited about another 25 minutes for our food because of a lack of staff. Our order wasn’t complex: grilled cheese, nut butter toast, yogurt cup, smoothie, but the flavors and taste didn’t make it worth the wait. Also, I have mixed feelings about the menu. I’m all for healthful selections, but thought the choices inadequate if wanting to feed your family lunch. Upside to all of this? The staff was wonderful and responded calmly and professionally, especially the young woman at...
